A Justin Bieber police video has come to light today that shows the singer wobbling while he walks in a sobriety test in the Miami station. The 19 year-old Canadian pop star was stopped by law enforcement officials in Miami, Florida on January 23, 2014 for drag racing. Once Bieber had been stopped, he was then charged with DUI; resisting arrest and driving on an expired license. The Baby singer was found to have alcohol in his system at a blood level well under the legal limit of intoxication. The teenaged performer, who turns 20 on Saturday, was, and is, underage in terms of alcohol consumption and was also found to have Xanax and marijuana in his system. You can see the pop star taking the test in the video below.
The video, which is just one of many that have been released of the singer being processed in the South Florida police station. Over 10 hours of video footage was released by Miami-Dade County prosecutors after The Associated Press and other news publications requested the videos under the Freedom of Information Act. In the video, Bieber is seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and walking a “straight line” The footage is completely silent as the singer walks unsteadily back and forth putting heel-to-toe in an attempt to follow a line on the floor.
Bieber seems wobbly as he walks participates in the sobriety test and at one point a police office walks away from Justin and shakes his head before turning back to watch the teen heartthrob walk back into sight. The officer seems to be looking at what appears to be a cell phone or a piece of legal equipment as Bieber walks back in front of the CCTV camera and waveringly walks back out of sight.
The Believe singer is not on his own in the police station; another lad is seated on a chair. It seems to be Khalil Sharieff, Bieber’s 19 year-old co-defendant and he is also in a hooded sweatshirt and sits with his head down at the beginning of the video and only looks at Justin halfway through the video. This CCTV footage backs up law enforcement officials claims that the singer could not perform the heel-to-toe sobriety test as required. Although, later in the video Bieber is seen doing push-ups on the station floor.
More video footage was released except for five selected clips which were described by Bieber’s legal team as “sensitive.” These video clips contained footage showing the teen urinating in a cup for further testing. While the clips have been initially withheld, a Miami-Dade County Judge is set to review the footage to see if they can still be released. A spokeswoman for the Florida Judicial Circuit says the Judge William Altfield will review the clips and make his decision public on March 4 at a hearing.
Earlier police video footage has been posted that showed Justin Bieber taking off his shoes, socks and wearing the same black hooded sweatshirt and being frisked by a police office in the jail. This new footage shows the singer walking in a very wobbly state as he tries to take the sobriety test. Bieber has pleaded not guilty to all three charges of resisting arrest; driving on an expired license and DUI. You can see the singer taking the test in the video below.
