After leaving Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines Flight 066 landed in Hong Kong and diverted its original path due to a problem with its electrical supply, according to the airline. 271 passengers on board the Airbus A330-300 were subsequently flown to their destination of Incheon, South Korea on transferred flights.
Malaysia Airlines reported an inoperative generator that regulates electricity within the plane, but that the auxiliary unit was still working. The scare for the passengers was heightened by the disappearance of Flight 370, another passenger jet that vanished two weeks ago, in which 239 people are still missing.
