Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is now receiving a special 50% bonus XP weekend from Blizzard, and it’s currently running in the Americas region. The period for gamers to obtain the bonus XP officially began on Friday, April 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT. The XP weekend will continue through Monday, April 7 at 5:00 a.m. PT.
In Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, the Nephalem (the player’s character) must face off with the reborn, evil Malthael, who has returned as the Angel of Death. Malthael is out to steal the Black Soulstone, which now has the Prime Evil coursing through it, for himself and use the gem’s power for his own nefarious ends. The Nephalem must now face Mathael as the Angel of Death before the Black Soulstone can be sealed away for good.
The special bonus XP weekend appears to be a nice thank you from Blizzard to the fans. The special weekend offer comes a short time after another previous bonus XP weekend that was held shortly before the launch of Reaper of Souls in March. That session was reportedly done to help players build their XP levels before they were forced to face Death himself. This new bonus XP weekend also follows the good news of the strong first week sales for the Reaper of Souls pack. Since the expansion pack’s release on Windows PC and Mac OS, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has sold more than 2.7 million copies through international retailers around the world and online. On top of that, Blizzard indicated that Twitch TV had a total of 2.4 million views for Diablo 3 on the Reaper of Souls launch day.
It now appears the reach and popularity for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will only continue to grow beyond the 1.5 million number from here. It will be interesting to see if Blizzard enacts Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls receiving special double bonus XP weekends such as this in the future when similar player milestones are reached. Blizzard will be expanding their distribution and availability of the expansion pack across the globe later this month. Starting on April 15, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be available in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile. However, console players for Diablo 3 will still have to wait longer and later into 2014 in order to play the Reaper of Souls content. The good news, though, is that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be released on the PlayStation 4 console later this year. In addition, Diablo 3 Lead Producer, Alex Mayberry, did confirm that the game is in development for the Xbox One, but an official announcement has not yet been made. What we do know is that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be playable for the PS4 at this year’s BlizzCon, currently set for November 8-9. Since Mayberry revealed that Blizzard is developing PS4 and Xbox One versions concurrently, one might predict the Xbox One version will be playable there as well.
Regardless, this is a great weekend for gamers, since players of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls are receiving a special double bonus XP weekend. It will surely inspire more players to strike back against the Angel of Death.

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your webpage? My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my visitors would genuinely benefit from some of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this alright with you. Thanks!
I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely do I encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you might have hit the nail on the head. Your thought is excellent; the problem is one thing that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very joyful that I stumbled throughout this in my search for something referring to this.
Thank you for another informative site. Where else may just I get that kind of info written in such an ideal approach? I’ve a challenge that I’m just now running on, and I have been on the look out for such information.

RoS was playable on PS4 at LAST year’s Blizzcon (8-9 November 2013). 2014 Blizzcon dates have not even been set yet.
It was actually 100% xp bonus, I think they just got their math wrong
50% isn’t double :p
