Are Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez engaged? That is the question that many have been asking since spotting Gomez with a ring on her wedding finger.

The couple has been serious since they finally stated they were back together in March. They talk about children, although are not having them any time soon, and the Come and Get It singer’s friends are extremely worried about her mental health because of him. However, have they moved so quickly to the point where Bieber is asking his 21-year-old girlfriend to marry him?

Gomez was spotted with a gold band on her finger while accepting a Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Singer. She never acknowledged the ring and has not spoken out about it yet. However, there are many reasons for her to wear such a ring. One of those going around is that they have skipped the engagement and gone straight to marrying. Rumors include that they eloped around the same time that the pregnancy rumors started.

Eloping is something that friends fear, according to a statement by “supposed insiders” says Huffington Post. The Disney star has already been through rehab partially because of the Canadian singer, and they fear she is still too vulnerable to him.

While Gomez and Bieber may be engaged, one idea behind the ring is that it is a promise ring. More and more young people are choosing to wear one as a sign that they promise themselves to each other. It is a step down from engagement, but a good way to physically promise commitment. It would also be a sign from the 20-year-old Boyfriend singer that he is serious this time about his relationship.

The Baby singer’s reps have spoken out about the ring. According to them, he did give her the ring when they got back together at the start of last month. It is not supposed to be a sign that they are getting married. It was a gift, and she has chosen to wear it on that special finger.
