Fans of the highly popular Halo video game franchise received a great piece of news involving the next installment of the series. Halo 5 releases in 2015 for the Xbox One Entertainment System. It was announced that the new video game will run at 60 frames per second with the help of a new gaming engine that was developed by the team behind the game at 343 Industries . This marks the first time that any game with the name Halo in its title has achieved this.

This new upgraded frame speed will also offer a more accurate and immersive feel for gamers who are seasoned Halo veterans, or completely new to the franchise. Aside from the frame rate speed increase, the director of the Halo franchise at 343 Industries stated that the game is a big deal mainly because it continues the well enjoyed story of the video game hero known as Master Chief. The 343 Industries director went on to say that the game is also a big deal because it marks the first Halo game in the series that is going to be released on the Xbox One entertainment system.

Other speculations involving the popular title hint at the fact that there will be another playable character in the main story mode besides the original protagonist, Master Chief. The new character’s name has yet to be revealed, but the gender for the new Spartan soldier has been confirmed to be male. Players will have the opportunity to get to know the new Spartan and exactly what role he will play in the game when Halo 5 releases in 2015.

Microsoft had already hinted at the fact that there would be a fifth installment in the popular gaming franchise at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles where the company featured a new video with Master Chief. However, at that time the company was under the assumption that the project would be completed in 2014. At this year’s E3 the company will give further details on the game what is in store for gamers in terms of the story.

When Halo: Combat Evolved released on the first Xbox console in 2001 it was met with unparalleled success and an extremely large fan following.  The original game set the start point for the franchise and its many other successful media outlets such as the novels and comic book series, as well as the many sequels and spin-offs that would follow in its footsteps. Halo 2 became the first game in the series to bring other players together in online matches and feature a lot of new additions that carried over to some of the other games that came later. When Halo 4 released in 2012, it set an outstanding record for sales when it achieved $30-million in its opening week.

In addition  to the Halo 5 video game being released next year, gamers and television enthusiasts also have a television show based on the gaming franchise to look forward to. The new television show features legendary film director Steven Spielberg as the executive producer.

Halo 5 releases in 2015,with no exact date stated as of yet. Gamers interested in finding out more information regarding the popular title will have to stay plugged into gaming websites and other media and keep up to date before and after the Microsoft press conference at E3 on June 9.
