Peaches Geldof Likely Died of Heroin Overdose

Peaches GeldofAn inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof has shown that a heroin overdose was the likely suspect. Toxicology reports show that there were signs of the drug in the system. However, the coroner could not find an exact reason for the socialite’s death.

The inquest has retold the story of how the 25-year-old mother of two was found. Her husband found her body, and instantly knew that she was dead. She was slumped forward on a bed in one of the spare rooms, with one leg underneath her and one leg hanging on the floor. Mirroring her own mother’s tragic death, her younger son was in the home but was not in the same bedroom.

After hearing that heroin played a part, a number of people have taken to Twitter to express their feelings. Most have stated they have no sympathy, and it was her own fault. She was selfish for doing drugs while having two young sons. This was the same thing that her own mother had done, and she suffered for years because of that fact. They question how her sons will feel when they grow up.

However, it is worth pointing out that heroin is part of the reason. There was never one specific cause of death. If there was, a coroner at her autopsy would have found that. Her death was sudden and unexplained. A heart attack likely, and that could have happened due to heroin or a mixture of other things.

A heroin overdose is just the likely reason Geldof died, according to police. However, there were no hard drugs found in her home at the time. There is also nothing to say that the drugs were from that weekend. It is possible that they were in her system for a few days longer, and other problems in her life led to her death.

Her juicing diet was blamed a lot for her death. It would have put strain on her heart, especially considering the amount of yo-yo dieting that Geldof did. The diet and the drugs could have put excess strain on her heart, causing it to fail.

Suicide was long considered a cause of death, but there was no note around. The way her husband Thomas Cohen found her also suggests that it was likely sudden and not the result of a suicide. She was in a spare bedroom, at the end of the bed. Her youngest son was also in the house at the time. Would she really have put her own son through something like that? Even though he is 11 months right now, he will grow up knowing that he was in the house at the time of his mother’s death.

There is no way to know everything that the socialite was going through at the time of death. There is also no way of knowing the exact cause. The coroner could not figure it out, and there were no hard drugs or suicide note found at her home. There are only suspicions and a heroin overdose is the likely cause of Geldof’s death, but not the definite one.
