Atlanta Police Seek Suspect in Convenience Store Killing

Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man seen on surveillance video shooting and killing a convenience store clerk. Although police have few clues in the case, the footage from the store security cameras captures the entire crime as it occurred.

AtlantaWhen the owner of the Big Brother 2 Food Mart on Norwood Road arrived late Sunday night, he found the body of his employee, Algee Karmar Pada, 23, in the front doorway. Police believe the murder was the result of a robbery that turned violent. The suspect pointed his gun in Pada’s face before pushing him down and shooting him. Police report that the gunman stole a carton of cigarettes and cash from the drawer before he left.

It is unknown when exactly the crime occurred, as the victim may have been dead for a number of hours before his body was discovered. Pada, who lived in an apartment behind the store, had just moved to Atlanta from Iowa only three months prior to the shooting.

If you recognize the man from the surveillance camera images, please call the Atlanta Crimestoppers tip line at 404-577-TIPS.  Tipsters can remain anonymous.
