
Police responding to a report of a disturbance in Mount Vernon, New York shot a man who allegedly was wielding a knife. The unidentified 32-year-old man was reportedly on the front lawn of the residence when police arrived, fleeing back inside the house upon their arrival. According to the officers, when they pursued the man into the house, he had cornered himself in a bedroom and lunged at the police with his knife when they approached. The man was then shot and subdued. There are no reports on the man’s current condition, though it was released that he did have a history of psychological issues. No officers were reported injured in the altercation.
