An exit poll has been released from the elections in progress in the Ukraine which points to one candidate as having a large advantage. These numbers indicate that President Petro Poroshenko, who has been vocal with pro-Western views, and his block of allied candidates have the advantage. With 23 percent of the votes on the party lists for Poroshenko, and a strong showing from similarly inclined allies, the voters appear to be supporting the path of the democratic reforms of Poroshenko’s platform and his plan to end a separatist conflict underway in the Eastern region of the country.
