Hugo Sánchez Jr., son of the famous player for Atlético de Madrid, has died in his apartment in México City. The cause of death is listed as gas intoxication, and he was found in the apartment along with one other individual who has not yet been identified. According to the report, the two men were found dead by his girlfriend, who had intended to visit.
Sánchez Jr., former champion with the Pumas, worked as a sports announcer for Televisa. Priior to his passing, he was working as the director of the Cultura Fisica y Deporte, working to promote youth sports programs in the Miguel Hidalgo district. His former soccer club will be wearing black ribbons to honor the life of their former teammate. Sanchez Jr. was just 30 years old when he died. No other information about the cause of the gas intoxication or the circumstances have yet been released. Sanchez Jr’s father is said to be en route to México City at this time.
