Katherine Heigl has a reputation for being quite difficult and rude in the entertainment industry and this subject has been talked about over and over. Recently, it was yet again brought up when her former boss, Shonda Rhimes, made certain comments about Katherine’s disposition when she was on Grey’s Anatomy.
During a Facebook Q&A about her new show State of Affairs on Saturday, Katherine Heigl finally talked about this sensitive topic. One of her fans asked Katherine to share her thoughts concerning the rumours that she is very rude and the Grey’s Anatomy actress responded that she heard those rumours too. Heigl wrote that she honestly does not think that she is rude, because nothing makes her more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone’s feelings. Katherine added that she would never, ever actively do something like that on purpose.
Furthermore, the actress admitted that she made mistakes, just like any other human being and that she has carelessly or unwittingly acted or spoken, but she always tries to make any wrong right. However, according to Heigl, that does not mean that she will not stand up for herself by setting boundaries and asking to be treated respectfully and kindly, but she will not do that with any unkind or rude intentions, only with the same honesty and strength that she believes every human being is entitled to.
However, this was not the first time that the 35-year-old has addressed these rumours about being rude and difficult. When she was asked a similar question in a press event for State Of Affairs, Katherine said that she can only say that she certainly does not see herself as being difficult and that she would never intend to be difficult. Heigl also added that she thinks that it is important to everybody to conduct themselves respectfully and kindly and professionally. The actress concluded her statement by saying that if she has ever disappointed somebody, it was most certainly not intentional.
Over the years, Katherine Heigl has come under some serious fire for allegedly being very difficult person to work with. The Grey’s Anatomy creator, producer and writer Shonda Rhimes, recently opened up about Heigl in an interview for the Hollywood Reporter. While she was discussing the production of the show Scandal, Rhimes said that this time, there are no Heigls to deal with. The showrunner later added that she does not put up with bulls**t or nasty people, because she simply does not have time for it.
During her Facebook Q&A on Saturday, one of the fans asked Katherine if she will ever return to Grey’s Anatomy, where she played Izzie in the hospital drama during its first six seasons before she exited the show, reportedly over too much tension. The actress replied that she is very grateful to Grey’s Anatomy fans, but she has moved on, because there are more different stories to tell. Katherine Heigl’s latest role is in a drama series State of Affairs, where she portrays the CIA briefer Charlie Tucker. The show is set to premiere on NBC on Nov. 17.
