Shooting Outside Fleetwood Mac Concert in Washington Results in 4 Wounded


Four people were wounded in shooting incident outside the Verizon Center in downtown Washington, D.C., the venue of a Fleetwood Mac concert that was still going on Halloween night when the four people were shot and wounded, according to a statement released by the police department. The wounds were not life-threatening, and the four are expected to make full recoveries. This news was first broken by Reuters.

The incident occurred just minutes before the concert ended. A bullet struck one of the men in the arm while two of the other shooting victims just were grazed by bullets fired at the four.

The fourth man who was wounded was shot just blocks away, according to the police. He was grazed by a bullet and was not seriously injured.

One gun was recovered by the police and they are in the process of questioning people believed to have information or who are suspects in the shootings that took place on Halloween night.

Washington, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, speaking at a press conference late on Friday night, stated that the police presence in downtown Washington, D.C., had been tripled in the attempt to ensure the area would be safe on Halloween night.

Despite the increased numbers of police, the shooting incident took place and there have not yet been any arrests announced in the shooting of the four men in Washington, D.C. Updates will follow when more information has been released or arrests have been made.
