Chelsea continued their unbeaten run in the English Premier League defeating London rivals Tottenham by a score of 3-0. The Blues dominated the match from start to finish and got goals from Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba and Loic Remy and never really let Tottenham get into the match. This continues their unbeaten run and gives the West London side 36 points out of a possible 42.

The West London rivals have had very different season up to this point. Chelsea have dominated the Premier League up to this point and have yet to lose a league match, however Tottenham started well but have had very mixed results as of late.

Tottenham actually started the match off with some good chances and looked much more in rhythm in attack early on in the match. They almost opened the scoring early on with a Harry Kane header that struck the crossbar. Until about the 15th minute of the match Tottenham looked much more likely to open the scoring but around the quarter-hour mark Chelsea really started to influence the match.

Eden Hazard really started to show his skill down the left flank and opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a great one two pass with Drogba. Hazard’s skill on the wing and ability to create passes in very close areas bothered the Tottenham defense all night and especially on the opening goal.

Only three minutes later Chelsea doubled their lead with a classic strike from Didier Drogba. After a very quick counter attack Oscar put Drogba through onto goal with a very well place pass and the Ivorian blasted a shot past Hugo Lloris. Although Drogba is now 36 years old he has done a very good job replacing Diego Costa during his injuries and current suspension. His ability to hold up the ball and let his fellow attackers join in has not diminished since his first stint with the Blues and it has really benefitted the team.

After coming out of halftime down 2-0 Tottenham really started to dominate possession, but that possession did not lead to any real chances on goal. Chelsea were more than happy to sit back and defend their lead in the second half and Tottenham had no answers on how to break down the solid Chelsea back line. Early in the first half Blues defender Gary Cahill took a knock to the head and at halftime was replaced by youngster Kurt Zouma. Zouma, who just turned 20, made his Premier League debut and did not disappoint making many interceptions and timing his tackles very well to keep Tottenham off of the score sheet.

In the 73rd minute Loic Remy, who replaced Drogba, was put through on the counter attack and calmly put away Chelsea’s third goal to make the score 3-0, which is how it ended. Remy’s goal was a great bit of individual play as he cut back behind Jan Vertonghen and shrugged off the defender to put away his third goal since moving to the Blues from Queens Park Rangers.

After this loss Tottenham now sit in 10th place in the Premier League, and Chelsea continue to be top of the League moving six points clear of second place Manchester City. The Blues continue to stay unbeaten and are still on pace to match the 2004 season of the Arsenal “Invincibles” who stayed unbeaten through the entire Premier League season.

Chelsea dominated Tottenham midweek by a score of 3-0 to continue their dominant run in England. Eden Hazard looked very impressive in the win leading his team to a victory over their London rival and looking very convincing in doing it. The Blues will have their last match of the Champions League group stage up next against Sporting Lisbon, but they have already wrapped up first place in the group but Sporting need a result to capture second place.
