Blake Lively has given birth to her first child. It is also the first child for her husband Ryan Reynolds. The actress gave birth before the end of 2014, and has decided to share the news now.

The couple has decided to keep the name and gender of their baby secret for the time being. However, representatives have confirmed that both mother and baby are doing well, but the baby was a little earlier than expected. The 27-year-old gave birth in her Bedford, New York home.

Reynolds and Lively met on the set of Green Lantern and after around a year of dating they married. It is the first marriage for the Gossip Girl star and the second for the 37-year-old actor. He was previously married to Scarlett Johansson, who recently gave birth to her own daughter with her French fiancé.

Lively surprised everyone by announcing her pregnancy on her own lifestyle blog, which is very similar to Gwyneth Paltrow’s website GOOP. Reynolds shared that he was excited about becoming a dad. He said that he was ready to leave “room for error,” and wanted to be understanding and open. For many new dads, it is often a time to dwell on mistakes they want to avoid, but Reynolds did not seem too do that.

There are now many questions, but Lively has given birth to her first child. It is likely that the couple want to spend time together with their premature baby. They will share the news in full when they are ready.

There is no news over the type of relationship they will allow photographers and journalists to have with their baby. Many celebrity parents are taking an approach to keep their children out of the public eye, and refuse to talk about them. It is possible that Lively and Reynolds will take this approach. They have been quiet about their private life in the past.

The birth of her child is not the only thing Lively had to celebrate in 2014. She also hit the top list of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. She remained humble when speaking about the news, and it was all due to her site Preserve. The actress joined the likes of Zac Efron, Emma Watson and Emma Stone. She did say that she would never feel like she has “arrived,” as the people she admires continue to “up their game.”

According to a Forbes representative, there are a number of makers and movers on the list. Sixteen percent of people never attended or left college, with 83 percent coming from low-income or middle-class backgrounds. Nineteen percent of the people on the list are immigrants. The average age of those who made the list choose their dreams was 14, so people are “choosing their starting young.”

Us Weekly announced that Lively and Reynold’s child was born early. The house was prepared, though, and the couple is reportedly staying there for the early days of the baby’s life. Lively gave birth to her first child before the New Year, and both are doing well.
