Jimmy Fallon Challenges Dakota Johnson to ‘Anything Can Be Sexy’ Contest

Jimmy Fallon

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Tuesday, February 10, Fallon had on guests Dakota Johnson from Fifty Shades of Grey and actor Anthony Anderson, from the hit series, Blackish. Later in the episode, Fallon challenged Dakota to the Anything Can Be Sexy contest. A video of it is below! The musical guest on the Tonight Show was Mark Ronson and Mystikal.

Jimmy Fallon began the Tonight Show, like always, with his comedy monologue. He joked about people and topics in today’s headlines, like the president of China visiting the United States later in the year. He also joked about Michael Jordan spelling Obama’s name wrong. Fallon said that Obama would get his name right, when he has Jordan audited.

Jimmy Fallon said “Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson will be on the show tonight.” Fallon said that her mom said that she would not be seeing it, but he added that was “what all moms say.”

Then, Jimmy Fallon showed an image taken by the Hubble Telescope of an image in space that looks like a smiling face. He showed the image, and it does look eerily like a smiling face. He said “Even God is using emojis.”

He said that “very specific levels of fish urine are needed to maintain the ecosystem.” Fallon had quotes from different aquatic creatures like fish and even Sebastian, the crab from The Little Mermaid, weighing in with their opinions about the subject.

The house band, The Roots, played Jimmy Fallon to his desk, and he then mentioned who some upcoming guests later this week will be, like Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Jesse J and The Weeknd. He said that tonight, Dakota Johnson and Anthony Anderson will be on the show, and musical guest, Mark Ronson, who came out with the big hit Uptown Funk.

Then, Fallon took a look at the “Pros and Cons of Seeing the Movie Fifty Shades of Grey.” Here are a few of them that he mentioned: “Pro: Your girlfriend is making you see it on Valentine’s Day. Con: You’re more whipped than the people in the movie. Pro: Hearing someone’s cell phone vibrate during the movie. Con: It wasn’t a cell phone. Pro: Telling everyone you saw it. Con: Hearing your grandmother yell, ‘No spoilers!'”

After a commercial break, Jimmy Fallon welcomed his first guest, Dakota Johnson, while holding up a copy of Vogue she is on the cover of. Fallon gave her a trophy for being the third generation of stars in her family to have appeared on various incarnations of Tonight Show. Her mother is Melanie Griffith and her grandmother was the famous actress, Tippi Hedren. Her father is Don Johnson, “one of the coolest dudes ever,” Fallon said. He showed a photo of Don with her as a little girl, holding a hockey stick, for some odd reason she could not recall.

“Is it weird growing up with parents so successful and your grandmother having been in The Birds?”

“Yeah, I guess — your children will figure it out,” she told him.

“There’s some good laughs in the movie,” Fallon said. “Of course, I look for the jokes, and…” He took a drink of water. He mentioned that her co-star, Jamie Dornan, was on the show last night. Fallon said “This is going to be one of the biggest blockbusters ever — like Harry Potter. But, it’s not Harry Potter, everybody!” Fallon warned the audience.

“He makes you sign a contract,” Fallon said. “But you renegotiate it.” He showed the scene from the movie in which she begins to renegotiate it, and she tells Christian Grey, played by Dornan, “If I did stay, what would happen?” The Tonight Show went to another commercial break.

When the show returned, Jimmy Fallon challenged Dakota Johnson to the contest Anything Can Be Sexy. He said that there were random things written on the cards, very unsexy things, and they would each try to say what was on the cards in their sexiest voices.

Fallon said “I want to go fishing this afternoon. Do you know where I can buy grubs…or worms?”

Dakota said “Excuse me, while I go…slip in a pair of old sweat pants.”

Then, Fallon had to do a quote by Jar Jar Binks of Star Wars fame. Though he tried to make it sound sexy, Jar Jar Binks is no…well…Jamie Dornan.

“Excuse me, sir…but this strawberry-scented Chapstick just fell out of your…fanny pack,” Dakota said.

“Sure, I’d love to take off my underwear — but, you’ll have to excuse the cloud of Gold Bond powder,” he said.

Dakota concluded the bit by saying “Let’s go to Red Lobster…I’ll get the Cheddar Biscuit, and you can get the…popcorn shrimp.”

After more commercials, Jimmy Fallon introduced the star of Blackish, who he called one of his best friends, Anthony Anderson. “Man, you’re hitting home runs right now,” Fallon said.

“I learned from you,” Anderson said. He mentioned that he saw The Roots at the Super Bowl, and said that one of The Roots was laid out on the floor of the airport. He did not name any names, but Fallon showed a photo of himself putting his finger very close to the sleeping figure of Questlove’s face.

Anderson said that his daughter was a freshman in college and had made the Dean’s List. He said that his son had auditioned for the role of his son in Blackish, but he “didn’t get the job.” However, his son will be in the live action version of the TV series, Richie Rich, a new Netflix comedy series based on the comic book of the same name.

Fallon congratulated Anderson for having won a NAACP award for the first time after having been nominated several other times. Fallon asked him about having brought his mom to the awards show.

“I did — she was my date. She wanted to meet Oprah.” He said he tok his mom backstage and she got her photo taken with Oprah. Fallon showed the photo.

They talked about the show, Blackish, and Jimmy Fallon asked him about how closely it was based on his real life. He mentioned a few of the things that were taken from his own life as they chatted; then, the Tonight Show went to yet another commercial break.

Jimmy Fallon then introduced Mark Ronson who has the number one song in the country right now with Uptown Funk from his latest album, Uptown Special. He had some help from both Mystikal and The Roots. Ronson JAMMED OUT, big time. The song has a great beat to it, and Ronson displayed some serious rapping skills as he sang it. The horn section of The Roots was fantastic, as was Questlove on the drums.

It was a terrific Tuesday night episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight. The lovely actress Dakota Johnson, who stars in the upcoming movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, was Fallon’s first guest of the night. Then, comedian and actor, Anthony Anderson, from the hit TV series Blackish, was the second guest, talking about the series and his family with Fallon. Then, musician Mark Ronson finished the show in style, by bringing down the house singing the most popular song in the country right now, Uptown Funk.
