The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Thursday, February 12, had on terrific guests, as usual. Actor Colin Firth from Kingsman: The Secret Service was Fallon’s first guest of the show. Later in the episode, Jimmy Fallon, Firth, actor Jack McBrayer, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, from The Jack and Triumph Show, played Catchphrase. McBrayer, who played NBC page Kenneth Parcell on 30 Rock, was Fallon’s second guest of the night. The musical guest on the Tonight Show was The Weeknd.

In his comedy monologue, host Jimmy Fallon joked about topics torn from today’s headlines, like Jeb Bush facing a potential scandal. He has released emails featuring addresses and phone numbers. They have gone back and redacted certain information. Fallon joked about them, showing emails with blanks in them.

Then, Fallon joked about David Axelrod’s new tell-all book, about things that President Obama reportedly lied about. One was “It’s good to be back in Delaware,” another was “I would enjoy having some good Kentucky bourbon…with Mitch McConnell.”

Fallon mentioned the comment that Kanye West made about having heard “voices in his head,” that caused him to say Beck did not deserve his Grammy, and he joked about the Little League World Series and a team in Illinois that had its title stripped from it.

Jimmy Fallon said that tomorrow night, Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead will be on, and singer Jesse J. Tonight, Fallon said his guest would be Colin Firth and Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Later, they all will be playing Catchphrase. The musical guest will be The Weeknd.

Last night, in the comedy bit Jimmy Fallon did called “Tonight Show Superlatives,” the host of the Tonight Show poked fun at several NBA basketball players, saying what they had been Voted Most Likely to Be. Some of the players Fallon mentioned were on the Tonight Show tonight, like Mark Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies, Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors, DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings, Chris Bosh for the Miami Heat and Jeff Teague from the Atlanta Hawks. They turned the tables and gave out their own version of the “Superlatives.”

Steph Curry, for example, gave an award to staff writer, Jeff Adler, who he said was Voted Most Likely to Call Chuck E. Cheese ‘Da Club.'” DeMarcus Cousins said that Steve Higgins was “Voted Most likely to Be Called a 50-Year-Old Virgin.”

After the Tonight Show returned from a commercial break, Jimmy Fallon did the comedy bit Tonight Show Hashtag. The hashtag was “Why I’m single.” Within ten minutes, it was a worldwide trending topic.

One of the Tweets sent in to Fallon was “I bite into both Kit-Kat bars at the same time, to avoid having a lonely one at the end.” Another one was “One time I told a girl she was beautiful. She responded with ‘Thank you,’ and I said ‘Yeah, I’ve been watching you a lot.'” Yet another was “My step-dad tells every guy I bring home, ‘Whatever you do to my daughter I’ll do to you.'” The last one was “I’m single because of…Netflix.'”

Jimmy Fallon welcomed Colin Firth after a commercial break. “You’re amazing in this movie! You’re awesome!” Fallon said. “I’ve never seen you like this — people get chopped in half. All those stunts — is that you?”

Colin said “Yes, I did it myself. I had six months of training.” He said that his teenage boys “hope that nobody mentions the words Mama Mia.” He said that the first time he met the people behind the film, he had never read the comics. He mentioned it was “very much in the spy genre. Most people think the British are spies.”

In the clip that Fallon showed, Firth’s character said “Are we going to stand around all day or fight?” Then, he proceeded to lay waste to an entire bar’s worth of guys. Fallon challenged him to play Catchphrase, and he agreed. They played after another commercial break.

Colin’s partner was Jack, while Fallon’s was Triumph the Insult comic Dog. Fallon explained how the game works, by drawing cards with clues on them. “Spoiler alert,” was the first one that Colin tried to get Jack to answer He got it right at the end. Triumph tried to get Fallon to get “Purple Rain.” He could not do it — Fallon said he just saw the clue. Triumph then tried to get Fallon to say “Dancing Queen,” and he eventually answered correctly. “Blizzard” was another clue, as was “Hair of the Dog,” Triumph said that clue described “Jimmy Fallon’s average day.”

The game was then one to nothing. Fallon tried to get Triumph to say “Pit Stop.” Triumph got the “Stop” part, and finally answered “Pit Stop.” There was some fake manure on the table, and Fallon asked Triumph why he did that. Triumph said “Everybody blames the dog.”

Then, “Monocle” was the clue, and after that, “Brown Noser.” Triumph got Fallon to answer that correctly. Jack got Colin to say “Wi Fi.” Then Fallon got Triumph to guess “Over the Moon.” Finally, time ran out, and Jimmy Fallon told Triumph “We lost!” After the game ended, the Tonight Show went to another commercial break.

Wen the Tonight Show returned, Jimmy Fallon welcomed his second guests of the show, Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Comic Dog. The Jack and Triumph Show will premiere on Adult Swim soon.

“This is kind of a homecoming,” Fallon said, “because you both started on NBC.” Triumph said that they had the hit show, “the Blacklist. It has mysteries, like why is James Spader dressed like Carmen Sandiego?”

Jack said that the premise of the show is that they both were on a Lassie-style show, and that now they are both has-beens, and poker buddies. Triumph was “reading” a series of funny-titled magazines that caused the audience to laugh out loud.

“NBC, we kid,’ Triumph said. “NBC will always be where Jack and I got our start.” Of course, Triumph followed that up with an expletive. Fallon showed a clip from the premiere of the show.

Jack told Triumph that he just had gotten a new job at a museum. He was supposed to tell people where the restrooms were. “I’m proud of you. You’re doing work usually reserved for senior citizens or signs,” Triumph replied.

“Here to perform the song Earned It from the hit Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack is The Weeknd!” Jimmy Fallon said, introducing the musical guest of the show. The Weeknd certainly had a unique hairstyle; but, apart from that, his singing was AMAZING. The piano player was great, also. The soundtrack for Fifty Shades of Grey contains a lot of terrific songs, including this one. Jimmy Fallon said that “The soundtrack is in stores now!”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was an excellent Thursday night episode. Colin Firth was cool-acting, as usual, and the clip from the Kingsman movie looks like the flick will be action-packed and a Must See movie. Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Comic Dog were very funny, as well, though Triumph tends to hog the camera. Their new upcoming series should be hilarious. The Weeknd closed out the show with Earned It from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.
