Truth: Its Value and Consequences

TruthHave you ever sat down at six o’clock with your family and put on the mainstream news for an up-to-date briefing on current events? Have you ever flipped from one news station to the next to find that they all go on commercial break at the same time and speak upon the same issues? How about the famous “coining” of phrases which are used nationwide by every single outlet with the same exact terminologies? Well, if you have, I can explain why. What we have going on in this country at the present time is a government-controlled, “Gestapo” style of feeding information to the masses. This style has nothing to do with factual news, but of molding the masses to think and react the way they want them to.

I remember when Ron Paul was running for President of the United States of America, every single news station either falsely had him at the bottom of the polls or even totally failed to mention his name, thereby succeeding in denying him the face time required in today’s voting process. Another example is whenever there is a political agenda by our government to go to war, all of the outlets use the same terminology of “terrorism,” “weapons of mass destruction,” and my personal favorite, “attacks on our American way of life.” You do not have to be a rocket scientist to start noticing the pattern. The American people have been lied to over and over again by the very people who are sworn to be true and relentless in providing the people with the truth. Journalism today has become nothing more than another episode of Seinfeld or Family Guy, respectively. I have watched and enjoyed both of those shows over the years. They have entertained me.

The thing is, however, when I put on the news at night I do not want to be entertained. I want to know the whole truth, Truthnot the opinion of the producers or whatever it is the government wants me to think. I want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I would like to consider myself a smart individual with my own formulated opinions. I do not want to be told what to think or what to feel about certain issues, do you? Could it be that the majority of Americans have become so lazy and consumed by the latest trinkets or gadgetry that they are indifferent to the major issues surrounding them? I do not know what the general consensus is, but I do see the decline of patriotism and American-ism right here at home. One may say that I present a reasonable argument, but I do not provide a reasonable solution.

Here is my solution: let us start telling the truth in an unbiased format. Let us enact laws that prevent the monopolization of the media. Let it be a crime for any public official, regardless of rank, to interfere with journalism in any shape or form. Let it be called treason for any corporation to either publicly endorse any candidate or donate to any campaign. Then, and only then, would we ever get the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth that the people of the United States deserve.
