Revenge, which will air its finale on May 10, will be cancelled after four seasons, Entertainment Weekly reported. Because this will be the last episode of the ABC series, it is sure to be darkest one. Sunil Nayer, the show’s executive producer, announced that the episode of the series finale will be “fabulous,” and with a cliffhanger it will “hit the mark” the fans need to conclude the series.
Revenge made its ABC debut in 2011, where it originally ran on Wednesday nights. Its dark plot centered around main character Emily Thorne, and her desire for vengeance, It’s ongoing plot twists and turns, and garnered over 10 million enthusiastic viewers. However, when the series was switched to Sunday nights, though it still retained its original thrill, it lost more than half its viewer base. Now with fans, knowing that this season of Revenge will its last, and fans are wondering if Emily, known as Amanda Clarke, will follow through with plotting her revenge against the Graysons. In a new twist, Victoria Grayson, played by Madeline Stowe, tries to retaliate against Emily by concocting a plot to end her own life. To do so, she blows up her family estate hoping to have Emily framed and thrown in jail.
Things then heat up as the series heads toward its finale. In the April 26 airing of episode 21 titled Aftermath, the show left off Jack Porter having left Hamptons for good, in order to provide an environment that would be more conducive to his son’s well-being. In the episode, he returns home after learning about the explosion, as he is concerned about Emily’s involvement. At the same time, he is worried that his leaving town may arouse suspicion of his possible involvement in the crime. Evidence is found at the scene of the explosion, which includes a note and a confessional video, which appears to vindicate Emily, however, just as soon as the video finishes and self-deletes, police burst in, hauling Emily off to jail.
With the news that the series will be canceled once season four end, fans are wondering what the finale will have in store for them and if Emily’s revenge plot will come to realization. The explosion and the aftermath was enough to send the viewers shockwaves, as well as the video and Emily’s arrest. Nayar hints that there will be even more twists and shockers in the upcoming finale prior to the Revenge’s cancellation, and is confident that her show’s fans find Emily and Jack’s outcome satisfying.
The way the storyline of Revenge will play out it is canceled after its four-season run remains to be seen, and Nayer is hinting that the show will be tie in with ABC’s pilot of The Kingmakers, which is what fans had been assuming all along. Heading towards its homestretch, fans are on the edge of their seats about Emily’s fate. The finale’s title Two Graves is a note to fans that her ending will not exactly be a happy one. Of course there is the possibility that if Emily could resurface in a brand new spinoff to the popular Revenge series.
