Facebook is known for connecting people together, who live in different parts of the world. This social networking site gives members the ability to socialize worldwide without ever leaving their homes. It was founded February 4, 2004 by a college student and his roommates. Today, it has reached approximately 1.23 billion members and going strong. These members connect because of common interests, backgrounds, even because they can connect with their co-workers outside of work. There are several competitors out there like Twitter and Instagram amongst a few, but Facebook has been increasingly the most user-friendly and popular social networking site out there. These are just some of the strongest points of Facebook and why it has become the social networking king.
The popular networking site provides members multiple areas of usage; users can create both personal and business pages, where they can advertise their services. There is the gaming arena, where it allows users to play their choice of games, and it allows for instant chatting with friends and family in real-time. Today the site has over 800 million users daily and it is fascinating to watch the phenomena get more popular.
Even when members are at work, they can download the Facebook app to their smartphones or I-phones and connect from anywhere at any time. The founders are Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Mosowitz, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes, the college students who came with the brilliant idea of how social networking should work. Directly in the same industry, competing with Facebook, are Google, Microsoft, and Twitter. Google holds the number one spot while this popular social site holds tight at the number two spot.
Currently, Facebook holds a strong spot financially at almost $79 per share of the company. There are seven reasons that have made this site successful and popular, and have allowed it to reign the technology industry today. The seven most reasons are as follows: the site is user-friendly, provides better interface, better source of information, more entertainment, allows members to share opinions, has top-notch security, and has no direct competition that comes anywhere near all of the capabilities it provides. These are some of the reasons that Facebook is the social networking king.
Every day, this site allows users to experience sharing connections with people in their industry or outside, in their religious beliefs or outside. Members get to know each other and get a sneak peek into each other’s lives, without getting too involved into their business. This site has allowed members to share as much of themselves as they like with their friends and family.
Members can upload pictures, links, videos, and opinions. It provides conversations spanning from local news to the international news with just a few clicks. Members cannot ask for more freedom to conduct themselves as they wish. Facebook does not condone adult topics such as inappropriate words or topics. It is a user-friendly community where members get to know each better outside of work, in a more comfortable setting. Facebook is popular for many reasons and it is successful too, created by a younger generations who understand the needs of the current generations. These are the reasons why it is the king of social networking.
