Scandal star Katie Lowes has implied that tonight’s stunning season finale will leave a self-contradicting response with its dedicated fans, taken after reports of various characters are being killed off. The actress, who plays Quinn Perkins on the show, did not hold back when affirming that the episode will leave viewers sobbing — probably over the passing of an adored character.

As indicated by reports, three of season 4’s characters will be killed off amid its finale. It ought to be said that the choice to center Scandal’s finale on a plot only concentrating on death is not necessarily considered to be shocking since executive producer Shonda Rhimes has become notoriously known for doing this.

Lowes tells Access Hollywood: “People are going to be so sad,” admitting that all of the actors on Scandal had been informed on who might be on the chopping block, prior to shooting scenes for the finale that some say is sure to end with a blended response. “I’m sorry for all the feelings and emotions that are gonna rise up through you as you witness this episode,” she concluded.

The finale of Scandal’s third series had a comparative ending, leaving fans at a cliffhanger on what the destiny held for Harris Wright, played by Columbus Short. The 32-year-old was infamously dropped from the show over a series of battles with his estranged wife Tanee McCall, who claimed he had been abusive towards her on numerous occasions. Rhimes saw this as a perfect opportunity to kill off yet another character.

Furthermore, Rhimes’ new ABC hit show How To Get Away With Murder needed innovation regarding concentrating on something besides demise for its season finale when fan-favorite Lila Sangard was murdered. It truly does make fans wonder on what kind of interest Rhimes has with slaughtering off such a variety of characters that viewers have grown to love. Regardless, both shows have already secured themselves renewals for at least one more year.

Meanwhile, Kerry Washington recently told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she does not even see how Scandal can get up and go with another series because of the convoluted conclusion that is today’s finale. “When we finished the table read for this finale, I was so shocked that I looked at Shonda and said, ‘Where do we go from here? How do we even have a fifth season after this,” she revealed.

In any case, Washington says she is “excited” for fans to see the episode, mindful that people are going to have mixed sentiments with the way Rhimes has chosen to close Scandal’s finale. The 45-year-old former screenwriter is said to have worked together with a few of her industry companions on the best way to wrap up another successful run of the show, so what better way to do that than to kill off those who viewers have gotten attached to the most.

Fans are going to need to tune in this evening to truly comprehend what is going to happen, as characters that many may be happy to see being killed off, could face the chop from the program. Although, this is doubtful perceiving how Rhimes has taken care of season finales in the past.

Should Scandal’s season finale be unbearably shocking with the death of characters no one would have wanted to see get killed, Rhimes, along with the rest of its show producers ought to fear of whether people will still be watching the show when it returns in the Fall. Catch the episode tonight at 9/8c on ABC.
