‘Super Smash Bros.’ With Ryu and Roy

Super Smash Bros

Leaked from the depths of the Internet is the surprising and exciting news that the characters Ryu from the famed Street Fighter series and Roy from Fire Emblem have been included in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U console. Nintendo was most likely going to announce the surprise additions to the game between June 16-18 at the E3 convention, but the massive leaks may cause company presenters to be red-faced instead.

YouTube stars TripleXero and MemeScreen released clear footage of the upcoming characters in the game, showing what the Nintendo developers have in store for players. This leak confirms earlier rumors from April of the additions to the franchise, and other leaks included the introduction of characters from Splatoon Trophy, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Mega Man and Animal Crossing, along with new settings of a mysterious stage called DreamLand 64.

This inclusion to the game can only bring new fans to the franchise. The Capcom character will bring along its legendary amount of fans, along which they have built something of a reputation for keeping gamers intrigued, much like a dog with his bone. The Fire Emblem character, to the surprise of gamers, is only now going to be introduced to this game, although Nintendo is the developer and the game also has a huge following. The leak of characters Ryu and Roy has made many fans of the Super Smash Bros. series jump in excitement for the game’s release, making it seem that only a brighter outcome is to be expected for the franchise.

Super Smash Bros

The series is quite popular among Nintendo fans. After its first release in 1999 on the Nintendo 64, which was only intended for Japan, the game soon became popular throughout the world. The game went on to make millions in sales, which influenced tournaments to be set up throughout the world using all four versions of the gaming product. These included Super Smash Bros. in 1999, Super Smash Bros. Melee in 2001, Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and WiiU.

Though it is rumored that it was the work of hackers which allowed for the glimpse of what is to come, sources have also stated that it could be a great marketing ploy by the Japanese company itself. With E3 so close, many are looking forward to what Shigeru Miyamoto has to say. Fans are also wondering if what was leaked encompasses all surprises attached to the game or if there are other exciting additions to the franchise. Nevertheless, with Ryu and Roy in the mix, Super Smash Bros. seems to have grabbed the attention of the gaming world leading up to the big event on Tuesday.
