‘Vacation’ Revamp Reveals Chris Hemsworth’s Package

The new Vacation film, starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate hits theaters this summer with the fifth installment of the hilarious 80’s movie series, National Lampoon’s Vacation. With an all grown up Rusty Griswold looking to surprise his wife Debbie, the father of two sets off on a nostalgic adventure to relive his childhood. Although the film is said to be a roaring comedy filled with laughter and surprises, the trailer has audiences awaiting only one primary addition. The Vacation revamp, also starring Chris Hemsworth, reveals the actor’s package (as seen in the trailer’s video) and fans could not be more excited.

The film series first hit theaters in 1983 starring comedic actor royalty, Chevy Chase, and Beverly D’Angelo. It chronicled the disastrous attempts at several family vacations that undoubtedly went horrifically wrong but yet kept moviegoers laughing for decades to come. Some fans of the original Chase lead films say that the revamp is nothing more than a waste of time. Claiming that without Chase to reprise his role as Clark Griswold, the franchise loses the magic that made the originals such a classic. Fans took to the trailers YouTube link saying such things like, “No Chevy Chase not going to be funny.” Others had disparaging things to say about the writers saying, “Vacation reboot. Because hiring good writers is too expensive. . ..”

With one generation on the fence and those born post-1990 having no clue as to what the original film even is, one thing is for sure, fans can not wait for the Vacation revamp to reveal Chris Hemsworth’s package. Hemsworth, famous for his portrayal in the Marvel franchise films as Thor, plays the husband of Leslie Mann’s character, Aubrey. Hemsworth will portray an up and coming anchorman with an overly exposed comfortability with showing off more than just his fan-favorite abs.

With more than eight million hits on Comedy Central’s YouTube account and over three thousand comments, it is speculated that more than half of the views are focusing on the 15 seconds of the trailer’s video that shows Hemsworth in nothing but a pair of boxer briefs. Bringing into focus a bit of American Pie humor, the revamp is said to follow the same wonky and wacky formula that made the original four films such a hit.

Audiences should prepare for lots of sarcastic reparteé, over-the-top physical disasters, and, of course, comedic situations that will cause fans to hurl over laughing or rear back from disgusted shock. Though die-hard Vacation fans wish they could see Chase and D’Angelo reprise their roles for the entirety of the adventure, the YouTube trailer does, at very least indicate that the two will make a cameo appearance in the film. For those who have followed Christina Applegate’s career, fans are excited to see her in yet another quirky comedy and are hopeful that she and Helm can create magic, just the same.

As some have suggested, it would be beneficial for those who have never seen the original to Netflix it and catch up, enabling unaware moviegoers to understand and catch the original references of the film. Although it is greatly assumed that catching up may be a bit of an unnecessary action as all fans really want to see in this Vacation revamp is Chris Hemsworth’s package revealed as many times as possible.
