The Bachelorette

The Bachelorette began with 25 single men. Now it is down to the final two, Nick and Shawn. Kaitlyn’s big decision will be made on Monday, July 27 in the season finale of The Bachelorette. According to IB Times, there have been weeks of tears, heartache, and drama for the 29-year-old Vancouver dance instructor. There is still more drama to come in the season finale.

According to the season finale synopsis, Kaitlyn is worried about Shawn’s jealous tendencies, as he has made his feelings toward Nick quite obvious. She is worried his jealous attitude could sabotage their relationship.

Kaitlyn’s connection with Nick is different. The episode description states that Kaitlyn and Nick have an “undeniably passionate and intense” relationship. However, it is impossible to know what will happen once the physical attraction fades.

It appears that there is not a clear front-runner for Season 11 of The Bachelorette. Kaitlyn believes she could have a future with either Nick or Shawn, according to IB Times. However, both men will have to meet her parents, and their opinion could have an impact on Kaitlyn’s big decision on The Bachelorette. She can opt to dump both men in the season finale, should she choose.

It is a rite of passage for the chosen suitor to get a visit from star jeweler, Neil Lane before heading on to the Proposal Platform. Some viewers may remember when Nick expected a visit from the Jeweler to the Stars, yet opened the door to Bachelorette Andi Dorfman dumping him. Nick has admitted, “I’m a little nervous between the time I open up the door and see who is on the other side of it.”

The sneak peek reveals that Nick does meet Neil Lane when he opens the door. However, it is not known if that feeling of relief will remain once Nick gets to the Proposal Platform.

Kaitlyn made headlines shocking viewers when she admitted to having sex with Nick seven episodes into Season 11 of The Bachelorette. ABC’s family-friendly show would prefer viewers to believe the first time anyone has sex on the show is during the penultimate episode. This is the episode when contestants choose if they will spend the night in the Fantasy Suite, as this is the only time cameras are not present.

Kaitlyn’s night with Nick is not the first time a couple has hooked up outside of the Fantasy Suite. The most infamous was former Bachelor Bob Guiney, who had sex with three different women throughout his season on The Bachelor, as told by the show’s creator, Mike Fleiss in 2010, during an interview on 20/20. According to Fleiss that tally ended up being five different women within the season. Guiney denies this to be true.

However, the PG-rated, on-camera kisses are coerced by producers, who have even provided alcohol to loosen inhibitions. In the fourth episode of Season 14 of The Bachelor, Jake and Tenley share a kiss after Tenley opens up about her cheating ex-husband and her divorce. After the kiss, Tenley said it had been her first kiss since the divorce. This kiss was not spontaneous. Before the two had even met, a staff member thought Tenley would be a viewer favorite and reportedly gave her conversation starters to ensure she remained on the show.

Tenley said a producer approached her asking if there was something memorable she wanted to tell him. She said she opted to play off her unique name. She made a list of “10 Things to Know About Tenley” and number 10 was that she was a good kisser. Afterward, she was encouraged to be the first kiss of the season, by producers who made it happen. She said she “surrendered herself to the producers.”

In Season 16 of The Bachelor, Jamie was encouraged by producers to show Ben how she felt about him. According to the New York Post, this has become one of the show’s most awkward moments when the shy Jamie straddled Ben for their first kiss.

Jamie told producers that she wanted to open up to Ben, which meant she wanted to make out with him or tell him something of significance, according to Jamie. Then a crew member told her in the ladies’ room that Ben would pull her aside before the first rose ceremony that night. She told the crew member that she would not be able to just kiss him without alcohol. She was served two vodkas with soda water within the next 20 minutes, which according to her, she chugged. After barely talking on the show, he pulled her aside and she made out with him and said “the rest is history.” Her seduction attempt failed and she was sent home that same night.

According to Season 6’s Craig Robinson, the producers can make alone time happen. Fedotowsky, the Bachelorette, was in a suite two miles away when it appeared Justin Rego trekked to her suite while wearing a cast on his leg, to be alone with her. The producers had actually driven him to her suite, revealed Robinson. Then they had him get out and filmed him walking past houses so it seemed he had walked the two miles.

The Bachelorette will have a two-hour Season 11 finale Monday, July 27, on ABC at 8:00 p.m. EST when Kaitlyn’s big decision will be revealed. After the show at 10:00 p.m. there will be an After the Rose special, hosted by Chris Harrison who will talk with Kaitlyn, Shawn, and Nick.
