LAPD Cub Reporters, Media Relations Section
WHY: Do you know what to do if a child is reported missing? According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, several initial steps must be taken immediately in order to maximize the possibility of a safe return of a missing child.
One of these crucial steps is an already processed Child ID Safety Card. The Los Angeles Police Department and the LAPD Cub Reporters will be processing Child ID Cards at the LAPD Pacific Area Station. Providing each parent or guardian with a secure document that they can file at home, this valuable record will not only provide a peace of mind, but will be an invaluable source of information.
At no cost to the parent or guardian, the Child ID Cards will be processed by the newly formed media unit aptly named the LAPD Cub Reporters. This cadre of student reporters, are assigned to the LAPD Media Relations Section for the purpose of identifying and highlighting youth events and activities within the LAPD and The City of Los Angeles.
