Kendall Jenner Opens Up About Her Mental Health in New ‘ELLE’ Interview

Kendall Jenner

While everyone knows who the Kardashians and Jenners are, perhaps the one member of the famous family who seems to make the least amount of waves on social media is Kendall Jenner. Not only is she a reality star thanks to her family’s E! series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but she is also a successful model. Now, the model is also on the cover of ELLE magazine, sharing a more in-depth look into her life and who she is besides being a member of a famous family.

Speaking to singer Lana Del Rey, who happens to be a friend of the model, Kendall Jenner opened up about her sister Kylie’s pregnancy, having her family’s group text on mute, and even her own mental health. Recently a number of episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians focused on Kendall Jenner’s battle with anxiety. Del Rey actually addressed her own anxiety while speaking to the model for the issue of ELLE, telling her friend that while she does not often talk about her own issues with anxiety, one thing that has been coming up a lot is the idea of self-care. Lana Del Rey revealed that in her own efforts to care for herself she has taken to doing “meditations for joy and happiness and try not to spread myself too thin.”

Kendall Jenner seemed to welcome the advice from her friend about how she does her self-care, saying that since she first opened up about her anxiety, she has had a lot of people coming up to her in order to let her know that they also have problems with being anxious. Jenner explained that she likes to take what people tell her and piece it all together in order to find what is going to work the best for her in terms of her mental health.

One of the things that Kendall Jenner has incorporated into her life is “Transcendental Meditation,” which is helping her with her anxiety. On top of her new meditation routine, the model is also using Netflix to actually wind down after a long day. She revealed that one of the shows she watches is Trailer Park Boys because it is something “stupid” that she loves and enjoys.

Of course her mental health was not the only thing that Kendall Jenner addressed in her cover story for ELLE magazine. The model also mentioned her family’s group text, which she admitted to having on “sleep mode” because if she looks away from her phone for a short period of time, she can come back to at least 100 texts that are unanswered. Of course, since this is family she is not going to “opt-out” of the chat, but she said there is no way should could have her phone on vibrate or it would never stop.

Kendall Jenner also admitted that the family text is also her way of getting “daily dose of news sometimes,” as it acts as her go-to for information. She even shared a piece of information that she learned exclusively from her family about a friend, who is now “the designer for men’s Louis Vuitton.”

Ultimately Kendall Jenner had quite a bit to say, and as one of the less vocal members of the Kardashian and Jenner clan (at least in terms of what she posts on social media), it makes sense that people would be interested in what she has to say. As a well-known reality star with an impressive following on social media, the fact that she is willing to open up about her mental health and other aspects of her life, is certainly something to appreciate.
