Celebrity Suicides of 2018: How Many Do You Remember?

The world was rocked by a large number of celebrity suicides in 2018.

We remember some of those celebrities that we felt as if we knew and were important to us. They helped enrich our lives, and they will always be remembered.

Mark Salling

Mark Salling who was best known as Puck in the tv show ‘Glee’ died on Jan. 30 in Los Angeles, California.

The singer and actor had just pled guilty to having child pornography and was facing a prison sentence at the time of his death.

Salling hung himself and was 35-years-old.

Tim Bergling (Avicii)

Tim Bergling, known to the world as Avicci was considered Dance Music royalty, died on April 20 in Muscat, Oman.

Avicii was from Sweden and was a DJ, Producer, and Remixer. He is best known for his smash songs ‘Sunshine’, ‘Levels’, ‘Wake Me Up’ and ‘Hey Brother.’

Avicii fatally injured himself with a broken wine bottle and he was 28-years-old.

Verne Troyer

Verne Troyer is best known for his roles in the ‘Austin Power’ Movies and ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ died on April 21 in Los Angeles, California.

Troyer was born with the Genetic Disorder Achondroplasia Dwarfism.

Troyer’s death was ruled a suicide by alcohol poisoning. He was 49-years-old.

Kate Spade

Kate Spade is best known for her Kate Spade brand of purses died on June 5 in New York City.

Spade was the sister-in-law of actor and comedian  David Spade.  She was also the aunt of Rachel Brosnahan who was the star of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.’

Spade’s hung herself. She was 55-years-old.

Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain was a celebrity chef and a television personality died on June 8 in Kaysersberg, France.

Bourdain was working on his television show ‘Parts Unknown’ at the time of his death.  He gained fame for his 2000 book ‘Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.’  He was also known of his shows ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservation” and “A Cook’s Tour.”

Bourdain hung himself in his hotel room.  He was  61-years-old.

Pavel Pergl

Pavel Pergle was a professional football player who came from the Czech Republic and played for FC Locarno died on May 1 in Magdeburg, Germany.

It was rumored that Pergle was facing personal and family issues.

No mode of suicide was given, but he killed himself in his home. He was 40-years-old.

Stephanie Adams & Vincent Adams (homicide)

Stephanie Adams was a model and 1992 Playboy Playmate.  Vincent was her son. Both died on May 18 in New York City

Stephanie was in a bitter custody battle with her husband. She felt that her husband was stopping her from going on vacation with her son.

Adams checked into a hotel and jumped out the window of the 25-floor penthouse with her son. Adams was 47-years old and Vincent was 7-years-old.

Charles Williams (Rockin’ Rebel) & Stephanie Burtnett (Murder/Suicide)

Charles Williams was known as Rockin’ Rebel who was a Professional Wrestler with ECW. Stephanie was his wife.  Both died on June 1 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Rockin’ Rebel was known to be in a Domestic Violence relationship with his wife.

Rockin’ Rebel shot his wife and then pulled the trigger on himself.  Rockin Rebel was 52-years-old and Stephanie Burnett was 50-years-old.

These were some of the celebrity deaths by suicide of 2018.  Let’s see what 2019 brings.
