Trump Supporter Violently Attacks BBC Cameraman at Texas Rally [Video]

TrumpA BBC cameraman was violently abused and shoved at a Donald Trump rally on Feb 11, 2019, in El Paso, Texas.

The BBC reports a man climbed the platform where the reporters were located at the event and assaulted Ron Skeans, a cameraman from the BBC.

In the footage from Twitter, a man can be observed wearing a MAGA cap is pulled off of a cameraman by a man wearing a black shirt. The accused assailant is shown yelling: “F— the media.”

Gary O’Donaghue, a BBC Washington correspondent stated that Trump during the rally goaded the crowd against fake news and the media. He reported this was consistent at all rallies and he has personally been spat on. He also described how American reporters are abused the most.

A BBC spokesperson reported Skeans was violently shoved and violently pushed by a Trump supporter at the rally. Security removed the man, and Skeans is fine. Trump observed the incident, did nothing to stop it, and later asked if the reporter was OK.

Trump addressed the crowd at his speech exaggerating the number of people who attended the event. Trump told the crowd that 69,000 people registered for the event. He reported the arena holds 8,000 people and the fire department let 10 thousand into the building. He also stated that tens of thousands of people were outside the arena watching the event on screens.

A spokesperson for the El Paso fire department said Trump’s claims regarding the events were false and 6,500 people were permitted into the building which is its capacity.
