Openly Gay Actor to Play in Next Marvel Film

It has been reported that Marvel is looking for their first openly gay superhero.

During the promotion for the 2018 “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” Kevin Feige, the studio president, stated that Marvel was working on introducing a new LGBT character into the cinematic universe with the 2020’s “The Eternals.”

According to “That Hashtag Show,” Marvel has offered more details of what they are looking for in a superhero. It has been said that the studio is looking for an actor who “physically looks like a superhero” and is between the ages of 30 and 49. What is a superhero supposed to look like? This is unclear. Marvel says there is no preference over ethnicity, but they would prefer an openly gay actor.

“The Eternals” are a superhero team that includes characters, such as Sersi, Ikaris, and Piper. The identity of the openly gay character has not been revealed and it is unclear if there will be a new character introduced or a completely new character or one that has been seen in the comic books.

In September, the film will begin shooting in the U.K. and will be released in 2020. The movie will be directed by Chloé Zhao. She was behind the camera for the 2017 western movie, “The Rider.”
