R. Kelly was bailed out of jail on Feb. 24, 2019. An associate or “friend” of the singer posted his bond and many have been wondering who the woman is and why she helped free the alleged pedophile. Valencia Love is the name of the woman who posted bond for Kelly. Love recently did an interview with Fox23 News’ Tia Ewing.
She spoke out to defend her reasoning for posting bail for Kelly. She explained that the 52-year-old artist was a “gentlemen” to her. She also believes that the singer is innocent and deserves the right to defend himself in court.
Kelly is facing 10 counts of sexual assault and plans to plead not guilty when his trial starts. Love, as expected, received an enormous amount of backlash for bailing him out of jail.
What makes the situation even more mind-boggling is that the close friend of Kelly is the owner of a child daycare facility, as well as multiple restaurants in the city of Chicago. Many people have already taken action to discredit the daycare facility. An unknown woman, who claimed to be the owner, spoke to reporters at “The Blast” and said that Love “has nothing to do with the daycare.” The main question that is surely going through many people’s minds: Why is someone who worked in childcare supporting someone like Kelly, who has over 20 years worth of history of having sexual relations with underage girls?
As someone, who not only has younger sisters, but has worked with children in sports camps and mentored young women in multiple programs, this type of thing is truly bothersome. Many others find it astonishing that there are people in this world that support pedophiles and rapists, but will not support people, specifically African-Americans who have been given harsh sentences because of a biased court system and the color of their skin. Most people could never support or look at someone the same way after finding out that they were sexually attracted to children.
This also leads to a bigger question that many overlook: Why did it take this long for Kelly to even be a topic of discussion, when he has been doing this for over 20 years? America has a really discreet way of letting off pedophiles and rapists with a “slap on the wrist” sentence. Sometimes they are not arrested at all. Some people feel as though because the majority of Kelly’s victims were black girls, and because of his reputation in the music industry, police ignored it, the media ignored it, and most of all, sadly, Chicago ignored it.
This author also feels as though Kelly is just one out of the possible hundreds of celebrities, or people with hefty bank accounts, who could possibly be child sex offenders, sex traffickers, organ traffickers or rapists in general. This is because many wealthy, upper echelon people control parts of the media and many organizations to cover up their wrong doing. It seems as if a lot of it goes unnoticed or is not really talked about.
If the people, not only in Chicago, but in the rest of the world, would expose these deviants to society, a lot more of these types of crimes would come to light and it would save so many lives and the innocence of children. People of Chicago hope that justice is served and if Kelly is found guilty, then he should be sentenced.
