Lazar
Shelly Lazar, the founder of SLO Ticketing, and a pioneer of ticketing VIP programs for artists such as The Who, Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney died on March 31, 2019, from cancer. She was 69-years-old. A representative for her company confirmed the news.

Lazar was dubbed “The Ticket Queen,” and Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones called her “MFTQ”(Mothaf—ing Ticketing Queen.)

Vanity Fair said Lazar was the pioneer of the all-access passes for rock’s biggest bands.

Lazar worked from 1991-2002 with Bill Gram Presents (BGP) as the Vice President of Artistic Relations and Special Projects Coordinator. She left to open in San Francisco SLO VIP Ticket Services.

Born in New York, she started her career at Madison Square Garden working with promoter Ron Delsener.

She also was in charge of VIP tickets for the Emmy Awards, “American Idol,” Chris Rock and the popes, Pope Benedict at Yankee Stadium Pope John Paul II and Central Park. She also managed events for the Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela.

Lazar managed credentials coordination for celebrity events, music festivals, and concert tours, for some of the most famous names in music including Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, and Cher.

She also sat on the board of directors of Little Rock Kids, Bill Graham Memorial Foundation, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Watch, Tipping Point Community, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. She also co-executive produced Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars.
