Sara Gilbert announced on April 9, 2019, at the end of the season she will be leaving the show she co-created in 2010 “The Talk.”
Gilbert said that this was very difficult for her to do and she had been struggling with it for a long time. After much thought, she decided it was time for her to exit the show. Gilbert made the announcement at the beginning of the show.
Gilbert also executive produces “The Connors.” She said that she had some other opportunities to think about, and her life was getting out of balance.
She continued by saying that she did not know how she was going to do everything. She was looking at the future and said there is not enough time.
She said that her youngest child is four years old and she still has not had the time to make a baby book for him.
Gilbert said how difficult this was because she loves the show and is very happy. She loved the staff, crew, and hosts. She thanked the audience for letting her every day into their homes.
Gilbert promised to return as a co-host ending “you are not going to be able to get rid of me that easily. I will still be around.”
