After over two and a half years after forty-three-year-old Angelina Jolie and fifty-five-year-old Brad Pitt filed for divorce, a judge ruled they can be legally single as they continue to finalize their divorce.
Jolie and Pitt were granted a bifurcation, according to court documents filed on April 12, 2019.
A source told People magazine that both Jolie and Pitt are focused and interested in what is best for their children. The couple has six children: 10-year-old Knox and Vivienne, 12-year-old Shiloh, 14-year-old Zahara, 15-year-old Pax, and 17-year-old Maddox.
Jolie and Pitt met while filming the action movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005. After the movie premiered, a few months later, the couple went public with their relationship.
In January 2006, Jolie and Pitt did an interview with People magazine, and they disclosed they were going to have a baby, and Jolie was expecting.
In 2014, they got married in the South of France, in a small, private ceremony with their children at the couple’s chateau.
In September 2016, Jolie, citing irreconcilable differences, filed for divorce.
Since the filing, they have been negotiating over finances and custody. In June 2018, a schedule was agreed upon when Pitt could see his children.
