According to RadarOnline, the fashion designer Kate Spade, days before she committed suicide on June 5, 2018, she wrote a note to a friend.
Before her death, Spade was writing a short story for the upcoming book by Bridget Moynahan and Amanda Benchley “Our Shoes, Our Selves: 40 Women, 40 Stories, 40 Pair of Shoes.”
Benchley dedicated an “In Memoriam” page in her book dedicated to Spade.
She wrote: “Spade was not only one of the original participants in the book, but she was one of the strongest and enthusiastic supporters. A week before her death, she wrote an email asking to schedule a portrait session. She wrote in the email ‘I am so very proud of you and your book! Great job!'”
Benchley also said that Spade loved whimsy and beauty. She laughed and was happy all of the time. She also enjoyed being with her friends and having fun.
The medical examiner in New York, after an autopsy, ruled Spade’s death suicide by hanging. It was reported the fashion designer tied a scarf to a doorknob in her home in Manhattan, and hung herself.
Hours before Spade was set to be laid to rest by her family, the fashion designer’s father died.
