New York Trump Supporter Arrested for Threatening to Kill Rep. Ilhan Omar

The Associated Press is reporting a man, who is a Trump Supporter, from New York and been charged with making death threats against Minnesota’s Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.

In an announcement on April 5, 2019, federal prosecutors stated Patrick Carlineo Jr. was arrested for calling Rep.Omar’s office in March and threatening her life.

Authorities had not released when police law enforcement arrested Carlineo.

Rep. Omar is one of two Muslim women to have been elected to Congress.

In the criminal complaint, the FBI alleged Carlineo threatened to shoot Omar after he called her a terrorist.

During the call, it is alleged Carlineo was angry and told the staff member that his name should be spelled correctly and be sure to provide his contact information.

Carlineo told the FBI that he considers himself a patriot, “loves Donald Trump, and hates that radical Muslims are now in our government,” according to the criminal complaint.

Carlineo’s legal counsel declined to issue a statement regarding his client’s charges.Omar

Somali-American Omar has also received multiple racist comments.

Omar recently has received backlash for the remarks she made earlier in 2019 regarding Israel. These comments included that Supporters of Israel who are in America are pushing people to have “allegiance to a foreign country.”

Some have perceived the comments made by Omar anti-Semitic, which she apologized for by saying:

It is real that there is anti-Semitism and I am thankful and grateful for all of my colleagues and Jewish allies who have taken the time to educate me the harrowing and challenging history of the anti-Semitic tropes.
