Taylor Swift Donates $113,000 to LGBTQ Advocacy Group in Tennessee.

On April 2019, the Shake it off pop star Taylor Swift has donated $113,000 to an LGBTQ advocacy group in Tennessee this was her way of giving back.  She also sent a letter to address how she appreciates the fine work that the advocacy group has been doing.

Swift has expressed that she has been an ally for the LGBTQ community for some time now. She has seen some of the things Tennessee has been struggling with. She continues to use her voice to speak up on some of the issues with good people by her side. Swift Recognized Pride last year this past June, dedicating her song ”Delicate” to the LGBTQ community during her Reputation Stadium Tour.

Swift has expressed that she will be more vocal on politics leading up to the year 2020. In addition, the vocal diva mentioned that she took a lot of time educating herself on the political system and… “branches of government that are signing off on bills that affect our day-to-day life,”

Swift has said, “I saw so many issues that put our most vulnerable citizens at risk, and felt like I had to speak up to try and help make a change.” This explains that Taylor is a caring person who understands that the first step in the sequence of change is to speak out.

Many People including stars like Ellen DeGeneres and Katy Perry have shared their love for Swift’s appreciation of giving back. Giving back is such a nice but generous thing to do for someone. You have to understand that when you are giving back you don’t look for anything in return because you’re giving from the heart. Swift’s actions is an example to others that she practices what she preaches.

Kerry Washington is another person who is all for the LGBTQ community as she says in an acceptance speech for the Vanguard Award at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards in March for being a notable ally of the LGBT community.

Furthermore, Washington reveals that “We need more LGBT characters and more LGBT storytelling. We need more diverse LGBT representation, and by that,  I mean lots of different kinds of LGBT people living all different kinds of lives.”
