
A “stan” of Taylor Swift Twitter Account gained a great deal of interest when the owner of the account was recently released from prison.
“Stan” is a super fan of a celebrity who usually tweets about them on Twitter.
@LegitTayUpdates tweeted on Twitter on April 2, 2019, “most people have seen that this account has not active for the past few months because she happened to be in prison.”
Twitter users and fans of Swift were curious about why the person who owned the Twitter account was sent to prison.
Na’ama, the Twitter account owner, is an advocate and supporter of Palestine’s freedom. She refused to enlist in the Israeli military services, which is mandatory. She was imprisoned for two months due to her actions.
While in prison, a friend visited and kept her up to date on Taylor Swift. Na’ama gave her friend handwritten notes to tweet for her from prison.
The law requires all Israeli women to serve in the Israel Defense Forces for 21 months once they turn 19 years old.
The Taylor Swift Fan refused to enlist in the military because of her political opposition.
Some students from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) saw the story of the Taylor Swift fan and found it unique and entertaining.
Michael Gibbs, a sophomore television and film production major, was surprised how casually Na’ama let the other Taylor Swift fans and followers know the reason she was away.
Due to her new found fame, the Taylor Swift fan started a fundraiser for The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF.) The organization helps gives medical treatment to children injured in the disagreements between Israel and Palestine.
