Tiger Woods won the Masters and his fifth green jacket on April 14, 2019. In honor of that historical event, Donald Trump tweeted on Twitter on April 15 that he would be presenting Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom after he won the competition.
Trump Tweeted on Twitter that he spoke with Woods so that he could congratulate Woods on his fantastic victory he had at the Masters and to tell him that due to his incredible comeback and success in golf, and even more important, in life, he would present him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Trump did not say when Woods will receive the honor or where it would take place. Trump wanted from his private golf club in Virginia Woods play the final round at the Masters at Augusta National located in Georgia.
The last time Woods won a Masters tournament was in 2005. This was his fifth victory. It is the golfer’s first major tournament win since he won the U.S. Open in 2008.
Woods has made a comeback after having multiple back surgeries. He also had several public personal issues which made many people wonder if he would ever be able to win another major competition and title.
