WarmusCarolyn Warmus, 55 years old, was granted parole on May 3, 2019, the Department of Corrections announced. Warmus could be released on June 10.

Warmus was first up for parole in 2017, and she was denied.

The former school teacher was convicted in the 1989 murder in Westchester County which was called the “Fatal Attraction Murder.”

The case gained worldwide attention and two movies, “The Carolyn Warmus Story” and “The Danger of Love” was made depicting the case.

Warmus was sentenced in 1992 to 25 years to life after shooting 40-year-old Betty Jeanne Solomon the wife of Paul Solomon, her lover.

Betty Jean was shot in the back nine times.

Twenty-seven-year-old Warmus met forty-year-old Solomon at Greenville Elementary School where they were both teachers located in Scarsdale in the 80s.

Warmus, the daughter of a multi-millionaire executive specializing in insurance, became obsessed with Solomon, and a jury found her guilty of killing his wife on Jan. 15, 1989.

After killing his wife, she met her lover in a bar at a hotel and later they had sex in his car.

The murder occurred after the release of “Fatal Attractions” which starred Glenn Close who had an affair with a man who was happily married portrayed by Michael Douglas.

Vincent Parco testified at her trial saying he sold a .25-caliber pistol and silencer to Warmus days before the murder occurred.

Warmus’ parole was denied in January 2017, has always stated she was innocent and was found guilty because of the media coverage of her case, and she could not obtain a fair trial.

On May 3, hours before the news of Warmus’ parole, Parco was found guilty of blackmail in the Supreme Court of Brooklyn.
