Frackle LLC to Launch New Chicago Based Bilingual Magazine Titled “Our Generation”


CHICAGO, May 1, 2019 — Frackle LLC and The News School today announced that they have united to launch a new Chicago based bilingual magazine titled “Our Generation.” The announcement was made by The News School’s co-founder Christine Houston. Nuestra Comunidad NWI Radio co-host Eve Gomez will edit the first issue.

In addition to today’s announcement, the Frackle LLC’s publishing team will be holding a pre-magazine launch on May 9, 2019 at Chicago State University. The primary purpose of this event is to introduce family, friends and partners to the mission of “Our Generation.” According to Christine Houston, the publication endeavors to serve black and brown communities by providing them with print and online feature news stories and editorials communicated through the voices of trained citizen journalist residing in communities the magazine serves.

“Our Generation” staff writers are aspiring journalist that have completed a media internship at The News School, which is a comprehensive journalism program that primarily serves youth from low income communities in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

This event will give those in attendance an opportunity to realize the important impact of this new publication. Our Generation’s founders hope that the presence of family and friends will help trigger wider interest and support for both The News School and Chicago’s first bilingual magazine. Ultimately, the publication seeks to provide jobs to aspiring young journalist that complete the certification process at The News School.

The event will begin at 6 pm with a meet and greet. Complimentary dinner will be served to all guests that arrive before 7 pm. Dinner will be followed by a short 20 minute theatrical skit written by Christine Houston. A short introduction to “Our Generation” magazine and its staff will complete the evening.

The launch will be held at Chicago State University on May 9, 2019, at 6 pm.
