FarrellPerry Farrell, the lead singer of Jane’s Addiction, told a story recently about how the mother of an ex-girlfriend accused him of being infected with AIDS.

On Twitter May 20, 2019, Brian Bernard @omaha_stylee_ tweeted to Farrell: “I was there the evening of the “riot” at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. The band never took the stage. The group is taking a lot of heat for doing that. I know that there are two sides to every story. So tell us. What happened that night?”

Farrell responded to the tweet by tweeting back on May 21: “Brian, I feel terrible that it happened. It was really a move which was very immature. Things had built up way inside of me. I was seeing a girl way back. I dug her. Her mother made up this story of me having AIDS. She would not let us see each other or be together. I do not have AIDS. This happened when people were scared of the disease and did not know about it.”

Another fan tweeted to Farrell: “Farrell you will always be the man. I have always loved Jane’s Addiction and seeing you. I wanted to see KHO, but I do not want to hear a show that turns into a Rally AntiTrump. Can you tell me the truth and tell me if there will be any political things in your new show.”

Farrell tweeted back saying: “It sounds as if you have pre-election anxiety. I can not promise you that I will not speak how I feel about the events happening now. You know I am for all the people.”
