K.D. Lang Says Madonna’s Lesbian Act Was a Publicity Stunt

MadonnaCanadian singer K.D. Lang has stated that her romantic relationship with Madonna which was well-publicized was a publicity stunt and not real.

In 1991, it was rumored Lang and Madonna had an intimate relationship.

Lang said in an interview with “The Sunday Times,” the publicists of Madonna and Lang thought a relationship would help sell records.

Lang explained in the interview that both she and Madonna had the same publicist. She added that it was quite possible that the publicist released the story that the two were romantically involved to increase record sales.

Lang explained that both she and Madonna benefitted from lesbian chic. She added that she knew about the rumors between herself and Madonna, but in actuality, they never had a sexual relationship.

In the past, Madonna has admitted that she had a physical attraction to Lang because she thought she looked like her husband at the time Sean Penn.

The Material Girl was married to the actor from 1985-1989.

K.d. Lang came out as a lesbian to her family when she was 13 years old.

Unlike Lang, Madonna has never openly stated she was part of the LGBT community.

However, this is not the first time Madonna has implied she was having a lesbian relationship with a woman.

The Material Girl. who is considered a “Queen” to the LGBT community,  has had no problems exploiting lesbian chic to promote herself.

It has been rumored she was linked to Ingrid Casares, Moira McFarland, Debi Mazar, Sandra Bernard, and Jenny Shimizu.

However, unlike her heterosexual relationships, despite all the PR she received from her alleged lesbian relationships, she never confirmed she was involved romantically with these women.
