Starbucks Will Not Be Making Gingerbread Lattes This Holiday Season

It is officially the holiday season at Starbucks and this means that not only are people seeing the return of the reusable red cups, but a number of menu favorites are also making a comeback. However, there is one latte that is sadly not returning in 2019, and for some fans this is certainly upsetting news (with a number of customers taking to social media to share their dissatisfaction).

According to “Delish,” the latte that did not make the cut for the 2019 holiday season is none other than the Gingerbread Latte, which had been a fan favorite for a number of years. While this seasonal favorite has its own following when it comes to Starbucks customers, it seems that it simply was not popular enough to make a return to the holiday menu.

While the Gingerbread Latte may not have made the holiday cut at Starbucks, there are a number of fan favorites that did. Among the returning drinks that customers can get their hands on are the Caramel Brulee Latte, the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, the Chestnut Praline Latte, the Peppermint Mocha, and the Eggnog Latte.

Of course, even though the Gingerbread Latte is missing from the menu, that does not mean there is not something for fans of that particular flavor profile to enjoy. However, in this case, customers will need to snag one of the baked goods in the case instead. As an alternative for fans of Gingerbread, there is the Gingerbread Loaf for sale that will allow customers to get those flavors, even if it is not in a caffeinated beverage form.

For customers who have never enjoyed some of the other Starbucks seasonal lattes, the baristas can recommend a flavor that might make a worthy alternative to the Gingerbread Latte. While it may not be the exact same thing, at least there is still the Gingerbread Loaf to indulge with.

On social media, customers upset by Starbucks removing the Gingerbread Latte from the holiday menu were quick to share their sadness and upset. For some fans of the latte, this drink is one they look forward to for months. Others were quick to say that their hearts were broken. In fact, one customer even called Starbucks, “killers of Christmas.”

While some Gingerbread Latte fans had no problem sharing their feelings on Starbucks removing their favorite holiday beverage from the menu, fans of the other holiday drinks were out in full force on Nov. 7, sharing their pictures of their seasonal purchases. Even with Christmas over a month away, the company was ready to celebrate the holidays with their red cups, holiday menu, and seasonal merchandise. Although some customers might be missing their holiday favorite, it is clear that Starbucks is ready for a cheery, festive holiday season that includes five of their customer favorite drinks. (Sadly, 2019 is just not the year of the Gingerbread Latte.)
