Chief Justice John Roberts Disappoints Every True American

The date, June 24, 2022, has been added to the list of the “darkest days in American history.” The Civil War began on April 12, 1861. President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 15, 1865. The cowardly attack on Pearl Harbor, forcing America’s entry into WWII, happened on December 7, 1941. One of our nation’s few great Presidents, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was murdered on November 22, 1963. Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. With the help of Russia, Donald Trump won the Electoral College in a rigged election on November 8, 2016. On December 6, 2021, a sitting president planned, organized, and executed an attempted coup intended to overthrow our nation’s government. On June 24, 2022, a biased, politically motivated Supreme Court, overturned a nearly 50-year-old decision by a prior Court which protected a woman’s right to make decisions about her own mental and physical health.

The most disappointing fact about that sad day is the lack of courage by Chief Justice John Roberts to do the right thing. The other five members of “The Six Bad Actors” are unqualified and unfit to serve on the Court. However, I trusted Roberts. I mistakenly believed that he was a man of integrity who believed in the Constitutional rights of all Americans, including women. I was very, very wrong. He is just another fake Republican.

Roberts was recently questioned about how the public views the Court after his Court overturned Roe v Wade which was favored by 60 percent of all Americans. He offered a political response, not the answer one would expect from a Chief Justice.

“If the court doesn’t retain its legitimate function of interpreting the constitution, I’m not sure who would take up that mantle. You don’t want the political branches telling you what the law is, and you don’t want public opinion to be the guide about what the appropriate decision is,” Roberts said while being interviewed by two judges from the Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals at its conference in Colorado Springs.

What’s interesting about his response is that he is lying. He is not an ignorant man. He knows that Moscow Mitch McConnell and the Federalist Society have been planning the overturn of Roe v Wade for decades. He is also fully aware that the last three justices, chosen by Moscow Mitch, were placed on the Court for a single purpose, overturning another Constitutional right for women. Sexism and racism continue to dominate the right wing of our nation’s politics.

For me, the Court was my last hope for our nation’s future. It is completely obvious that our country’s entire government is corrupted beyond repair. Trump ruined every American’s view of the President. Congress is dysfunctional thanks to Moscow Mitch’s “party of no.” Now the Court has become completely politicized. Our Founding Fathers gave the justices lifetime appointments to hopefully prevent political bias. They failed.

The truth is that six of the nine justices on the Court in 2022 are not Republicans, nor are they Conservatives; they are extremists. They have their own agenda and recognize the fact that with a 6-3 majority, they can get away with anything. The only way to remove a corrupt justice is through the impeachment process. Sadly, only one corrupt justice was ever impeached. Samuel Chase was impeached for “arbitrary and oppressive conduct of trials.” He was acquitted in 1805. What did you expect? Justice?

Of all the damage done to America by Trump and his fascist party, the most egregious will remain the nomination and confirmation in Moscow Mitch McConnell’s senate of three of the most corrupt and unfit justices in history: Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.

Can you say “term limits” for congress and the Court?
