The very existence of “red” and “blue” states is a travesty. The very idea of states defined by political affiliation is divisive. Unfortunately, this is the result of another serious mistake by our Founding Fathers. The determination of why some states are red and some are blue is based on one thing, and one thing only: the moronic idea of loyalty to one political party. This has destroyed free thought and intelligent voting. The Electoral College is the least democratic section of the Constitution.
Every Vote Must Count
The Electoral College removes the rights of voters to choose the woman or man who will lead them for the next four years and gives it to the states. This means a great deal to millions of Americans whose votes do not count in a presidential election. Here in Nevada, if one presidential candidate receives 50.1 percent of the vote, all of our electoral votes go to that single man or woman. For more than two centuries this fact has been the primary reason voter turnout is frequently far below what it should be.
Logic says that the Electoral College should be repealed and the only legitimate vote would be the popular vote. However, today’s fake Republicans are fully aware that if the Electoral College did not exist, they would never win another presidential election. Therefore, they strongly object to the change.
Not a single Republican presidential candidate has won the popular vote since 1992, with the exception of George W. Bush who won both the electoral and popular vote in his 2004 reelection bid with the use of fear tactics resulting from the tragic events on 9/11.
Most Americans Support a Progressive Agenda
Most Americans favor a progressive agenda rather than the current regressive plans of Republicans.
Recent studies prove that the intellectual capabilities in blue states far surpass those in red states. Right wing politicians call this allegation elitist. However, if we look at Republicans who sit in congress today, it is clear why they fear intelligence and choose ignorance.
Most young Americans are progressive. The situation in red states has become so severe, a growing number of college age men and women refuse to attend institutions of higher learning in states identified by their regressive ideas.
Yes, Women’s Rights Are a Major Issue for Most
At the center of their refusal to enroll in universities and colleges in states like Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and others involves one of the darkest days in our nation’s history, June 24, 2022. When a politically biased Supreme Court reversed a 49-year-old decision by a qualified Court, which protected a woman’s right to decide the future of their own physical and mental health, this was undeniable proof that Republicans prefer an America which existed in the dark days of the 1950s.
Republican Candidates Will Continue to Lose Elections
Republicans were soundly defeated in the 2018, 2020, and 2022 elections. This trend will continue as long as GOP voters choose to elect the worst possible candidates available. Consider this fact. Among many others, Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Chuck Grassley, Tommy Tuberville, Jim Jordan, and Matt Gaetz represent red states. (Yes, Florida has become a dark red state under the fascist leadership of Ron DeSantis.)
When you vote in 2024, vote for a woman or man who will vote for your needs and wishes, not a Republican who will vote for the demands of billionaires and millionaires.
