In 1981 the Republican Party began its wars on the working class, minorities, non-Christians, and women. Reagan made it clear from his first few months in office that big business would be supported by his administration, but working class Americans would be forced to find their own way. His instant firing of all our nation’s traffic controllers, refusing to engage in honest discussions with the union’s leadership displayed a level of arrogance and disrespect not seen since Truman.
Reagan Must Be Included in the List of Worst Presidents
Reagan was nearly as “white” as your former, fascist president, Donald Trump. It was well known that his disdain for minorities was a clear and present danger to the future of all non-whites.
He can take credit for the creation of the Christian Religious Right. Reagan was the first president to make Christianity our one and only religion, if only in his own mind. He violated his oath of office, to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” He obviously ignored the first line of the first amendment.
His deep devotion to Christianity began the right-wing’s war on women. He did not consider women equal to men. He did not believe that they had the ability or the right to make decisions about their own mental and physical health. To be clear, he created a new “hot button political issue,” the right for women to obtain a legal abortion. Reagan ignored the decision of the Supreme Court in 1973, and is at the core of one of the darkest days in American history when a biased Court overturned that decision on June 24, 2022.
Republicans Consider or Military “Collateral Damage”
This week House Republicans decided to wage war on our veterans, although it was they who eagerly sent them off to war.
House Republicans voted Wednesday to cut veterans’ services significantly and limit their health care. That’s just one aspect of Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling and budget cuts extortion package that passed 217-215, with all but four Republicans voting for it. Those four didn’t think the cuts were deep enough.
According to the Daily Kos.
We have under-served our returning veterans since WWI. Republicans love wars. However, when our finest men and women return from the battlefields, they ignore their needs, both physically and mentally. Is it possible that their leaders are heavily invested in the military industrial complex, and “war is good business?”
Profit Before People
To understand why Republicans want to cease funding for programs which would benefit the majority of our nation’s people, follow the money. Their only purpose in Washington is to protect the bloated profits of our major corporations. Welcome to the plutocracy.
Our government’s neglect for veterans has been a very sore spot for all who pay attention to the truth. Few members of the Republican Party have been members of our military. Both George W. Bush and Donald Trump were draft dodgers, a fact hidden by those who call themselves Republicans and their supporters, the mainstream media. Dick Cheney’s former company, Haliburton increased their profits considerably during the illegal war in Iraq. “W’s” Assistant Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz, made a fortune during the Iraq war.
The Republican Alliance With the Saudi Royal Family
Never forget an important fact all Republicans would like you to forget. The day after the cowardly attacks on 9/11, when our nation was attacked by an extremist faction of the Religion of Islam, all flights, regardless of their status, were grounded. However, members of the Saudi Royal Family were allowed to leave American soil on their private aircraft. 15 of the 19 attackers were Saudi nationals.
