Entourages for the Def Jam recording artists were allegedly involved in a physical confrontation that may have involved gunfire. The feud between Def Jam artists Rick Ross and Young Jeezy reportedly came to blows—and possibly gunfire—during Saturday’s taping of the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards. According to sources, Ross and Jeezy exchanged words backstage and started pushing and shoving each other. Complex reports the fight moved to the parking lot, with the sound of gunshots and a police arrest followed. Machine Gun Kelly tweeted that he was injured: “Got mase in my eyes. That beef shit just got real outside.”
The awards show taping was reportedly put on pause and the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center was locked down. The awards resumed soon after, and Ross is said to have made an appearance onstage.
It’s unclear if the man was arrested, but as of right now Jeezy and Ross are still at the awards, which are currently being taped. [News Video bottom of page]

Most of the crowd inside the Atlanta Civic Center, where the taping took place were unaware of the drama that jumped off around the same time that A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes paid tribute to fallen music mogul Chris Lighty. 50 Cent and Fat Joe, who have quarreled repeatedly semed to have put their differences aside for the moment as they too appeared on stage to honor Lighty. Both Rick Ross and Jeezy also performed different sets during the award show.
