Kristen Stewart’s 7 Most Uncomfortable Experiences

When ever I see Kristen Stewart, she always looks as though she’s uncomfortable. Whether she’s on the red carpet, doing an interview, or simply posing for a photo, the “Twilight” star often appears awkward, annoyed and sometimes even troubled. It’s hard to put your finger on it, but it’s conspicuously visible.

Sometime ago, a subscriber to the Guardian Express website left me an interesting comment describing their recent impression of Stewart after watching the actress appear on “The People’s “Choice Awards,” the comment read; “I’m not a Kristin Stewart fan and I’ve never seen any of the Twilight movies, but she’s cute and she’s on TV a lot. Tonight, she was on The People’s Choice Awards, several times, including receiving a couple of awards. Every time she is on screen, she just looks so uncomfortable in her own skin, almost as if she hates that anyone is looking at her or paying attention to her. This seems like an odd attitude for a TV/movie star. Does she suffer from some sort of phobia or other disorder?”

After reading the comment, I felt relieved to know I wasn’t the only one with the impression that Stewart often seemed uncomfortable. My relief inspired me to probe through the Twilight star’s recorded history for evidence that would support my impression. Thus, the following report contains 7 of the most uncomfortable experiences Kristen Stewart has encountered since she began working on the “Twilight” series. An additional uncomfortable experience has been included, for good measure, at the close of this report.

Kristen Stewart may not always feel uncomfortable when she’s in the public eye but she certainly looks the part the majority of the time. So in order to accurately distinguish times she’s uncomfortable from those times she comfortable, I have compiled a list of Stewart’s most uncomfortable public experiences.

Judging from recent reports, Robert Pattinson is quite serious about his feeling for Kristen Stewart. Zeenews.com reports that he could not manage to keep his hand off of the star at a recent New York dinner party. According to the website, Pattinson was drinking beer, while talking to friends while his hand was all over his “Twilight” co-star.

It is not clear if the 26-year-old actor was intoxicated but a source tells Zeenews.com that Stewart had to remove Pattinson’s “hand of her butt!” Moreover, the website reports that when Pattinson attempted to “smooch,” Stewart replied “Don’t kiss me.” It had to be quite an uncomfortable experience for the “On the Road” star.

Some have claimed that three to four years ago Stewart cheated on boyfriend, Michael Angarano with Robert Pattinson before they officially became an item.

It is fairly clear, Angarano and Stewart were together during filming of the first movie, and he visited her in Vancouver while she was filming the second. What’s troubling in this scenario, is that Angarano was still dating the actress in April of 2009 while rumors not only claimed she was secretly seeing Pattinson, a number of compromising photos appear to indicate the two “Twilight” co-stars were more than just friends.

At the time, tabloids and newspapers reported Stewart and Pattinson were spending a lot of time alone together in their hotel rooms.

In any case, it’s fairly clear Stewart broke Angarano’s heart when she left him for Pattinson. They were relatively unknown actors when they fell in love back in 2005, but it appears Kristen outgrew the relationship when her fortune took a lightning turn upward following the release of “Twilight.”

My guess, it that Stewart was perhaps torn between Angarano, which means she was perhaps, uncomfortable with the situation.

A few years back, Stewart gave Vanity Fair and exclusive interview where she admits virtually casting Pattinson for the role he’s now famous for playing. In a November edition of Vanity Fair, the media giant asked Stewart: “How was it working with Robert?” Stewart goes on the record with the surprising claim: “I basically cast him. We did one day of auditions and a bunch of guys came in. Catherine Hardwicke, the director, afterwards was like, “What do you think? This is such a hard choice.” I was like, “Are you kidding me!? It’s such an obvious choice!” It couldn’t have been better. It was sort of perfect.” Here’s is a situation that I’m quite sure make’s Pattinson uncomfortable if not Stewart.

Before Stewart’s infamous appearance on David Letterman in 2010, the late-night host conducted a controversial interview with the “Twilight” star in 2008. The notorious meeting proved contentious as Letterman chastised Stewart for not yet finishing high school. Things appeared to take a turn for the worst when Stewart announced she would be driving to Russia once her “Twilight” promotional tour ended. Letterman pauses for effect and then countered with; “I hope it’s Berlin.” The remarks scored big on T.V. as Kristen looked fairly uncomfortable, squirming confusedly while the audience roared. Many viewers have since remarked it was one of the most uncomfortable Letterman moments since Mary-Kate Olsen threw Spencer Pratt under the bus in an earlier Letterman broadcast.

In another uncomfortable situation, Stewart stated her first impression of “Twilight” was that she “hated it,” according to a report published by the L.A. Times. In the article, the Times quoted Stewart as saying; “I read a synopsis of the story before I read the script or the book — and I hated it. I didn’t want to be a part of something that presents this really ideological idea of love to so many young people. The synopsis made Bella so weak, as though the only reason she wanted to be with Edward was because he was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, because he could take care of her, because she didn’t have to be brave because he could be brave for her.” I’m sure that such a condescending statement made the writer of the screenplay feel quite uncomfortable.

Another fairly uncomfortable moment took place in Nov., 2008. Starpulse.com reported that the “On the Road” actress called a group of her fans retarded. The incident happened during an interview with MSN. “Stewart spoke of being trailed by fans as she went from place to place promoting the new vampire movie.” According to the website, Stewart told fans, “You guys are celebrating something that has not come true yet. So, you are really retarded and have nothing to do with this creative process and I really don’t want to hear you celebrate in front of me. Get out of here! It’s my responsibility!” It was latter reported that Stewart apologized for the remark, but she added in her apology that the situation made her feel uncomfortable.

One situation that would make anyone feel uncomfortable occurred when an Oct. 5, 2012 Twitter report claimed Stewart had died following a Jet-Ski crash in Turks and Caicos Islands. A month following the fake earth-shaking tweet, Global Associated News revived the ridiculous sensational ruse on their website, reporting; “Actress Kristen Stewart died while on a personal vacation in Turks and Caicos early this morning from injuries sustained in a Jet-Ski accident – November 6, 2012.”

They continued the story, claiming; “Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos Police officials indicate that the actress struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Kristen Stewart was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available.”

People were duped by such an irresponsible report, when the news reached Stewart, its been reported she was not only uncomfortable, she intimated to her friends a concern for her own safety.

As an added bonus, let me leave you with one more uncomfortable Kristen Stewart moment. The situation arose a day or two following Halloween. In a MTV interview, Stewart and Pattinson explained to the MTV host, how and why they ended up in the costumes they wore on Halloween costumes. According a report published by HollywoodLife.com, “Dr. Lillian Glass, a body language expert, said that Stewart looked very uncomfortable during the interview. ‘Her body language showed that she was very protective – she had her arm crossed in front of her body. She was rocking back and forth, and at one point she got into the fetal position – it’s a form of self soothing. It was like she wanted the ground to swallow her up,” Glass said.'”

I found the HollywoodLife.com report quite informative, and on the other hand a bit disturbing. As much as I hate to say it, Dr. Glass’ analogy suggests’ that the actress may be suffering from some kind of condition. If that’s the case, I would like it to be clear that this article is in no way intended to make fun of a condition Stewart may or may not be suffering through. To be uncomfortable as a result of extemporaneous experiences or circumstances, sums up what this article intends to communicate.
