Easter Fun at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure

easterBesides all the rides, attractions, parades, and shows, Disneyland is great at celebrating holidays. This year, Disneyland has expanded their Easter celebration with events that will be fun for the entire family.

For the second year, park guests visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are able to take part in a park-wide Egg-stravaganza. Disney’s take on the traditional Easter egg hunt has park guests looking for large eggs decorated with the faces of popular Disney characters. Those who wish to search can walk around each park and look for the hidden eggs. The eggs can be found high and low around each park at various locations. The biggest hint one can receive while searching for the eggs is that there are no two eggs in the same themed area.

The egg hunt is held within park hours and it is not a timed event, so park guests can search for eggs at their own pace. Visitors can go through every land and search for the eggs or they can search for the eggs in between the travel from one ride to the next.

For $4.99, park guests can purchase a map with hints on where the eggs are located. The map includes stickers that resemble the Disney character eggs they are looking for so that visitors can mark which eggs they found. Whether or not all the eggs are found, the map can be shown later in the day to receive a special gift. This year, the gifts are miniature versions of the eggs visitors searched for throughout the park.

With all the fun of Disneyland, it is exciting to get an extra bonus celebration with Easter-themed entertainment. The egg hunt is not the end of the fun. This year Disneyland added a themed area to celebrate the spring time.

Visitors at Disneyland can head over to Frontierland and head inside the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree for Springtime Roundup. The area is decorated with a country hoedown theme complete with hay stacks, wagons, and plenty of colorful flowers. At the entrance of the area, there is a park cast member hand-painting Easter eggs themed to Disney animated films. Once the decorated eggs are finished, they are put on display shelves so that guests can see the amazing artwork.

While inside the Springtime Roundup, children can participate in activities such as coloring wearable rabbit ears and dancing along to some country music. Costumed dancers bring children together to dance along to some classic songs and teach them new dance moves. Major Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto also make appearances and join in on the dancing.

Famous Disney rabbits also make an appearance at Springtime Roundup to take photos with park guests. Guests can line up to take photos with rabbits which include White Rabbit, Br’er Rabbit, Thumper, and Rabbit. The Easter Bunny also makes and appearance and danced the bunny hop with all the children.

Disney is great at celebrating holidays throughout the year and the Easter fun at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure is wonderful for anyone visiting the parks this weekend. The Easter events started on April 10 and will end on April 20 at both Disney parks. The Egg-stravaganza egg hunt is also happening at Epcot during the same dates.
