Texas Husband and Wife Both Killed After Run Into Each Other in Car Accident

A Texas newly married husband and wife were both killed after they ran into one another head on Wednesday morning in a tragic car accident. Nicolas Cruz, age 31, and Kristina Munoz, age 26, were by themselves in each of their respective automobiles when they smashed into each other. The car accident happened close to an egg farm where each of them were employed, but police investigators are still not exactly sure what happened to cause the deadly wreck although they have attempted to piece together what they think possibly could have occurred.

Cruz was going north bound on County Road 87 in a 1990 Mazda pickup truck when he drove on top of a hill, he ended up smashing into the 1999 Saturn that his wife Munoz was driving as she was going to the south. A Texas trooper stated that the back road was basically an extremely narrow, blacktop county lane with no kind of highway markings. It did not have side shoulders and there were no center stripes either.

What the police suspect probably happened is that Munoz drifted across the pavement around 10:00 a.m., crashed into her husband’s truck and killed them both. Investigators state that the accident occurred while on the crest of the hill and it is also believed that speed and the layout of the road itself would be factored into what happened. Neither Cruz nor Munoz was believed to have been wearing a seat belt and there also were no signs of skid marks from either automobile.

It took first responders and fire rescue using special tools in order to extricate the dead young couple from both of their crushed vehicles after the late morning accident. The crash happened near Prosper, Texas, stated police and the couple were both pronounced dead at the scene at around 10:20 a.m. by Gene Morton, who is a Texas Justice of the Peace.

Each one of the newlyweds worked at the Mahard Pullet Farm and was using separate vehicles to go between two different buildings used by the business. The couple had likely both driven to their place of employment separately that morning because of having different work schedules and the need to use their automobiles during shift hours, stated a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper.

They had only recently gotten married and they leave behind three young children.

Prosper, Texas where the couple’s place of employment was located, is around 60 miles to the northwest of Wichita Falls.
