Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is set to star in the seventh installment of the action packed blockbuster Fast & The Furious. Lead actor Vin Diesel confirmed Azalea’s appearance in the film during an interview with Skyrock FM.

Diesel did not give any information concerning the role that the 24 year-old Fancy hit-maker will play, but stated that she will simply be doing a cameo for the upcoming installment only. This statement puts to rest fans questions surrounding the possibility of Azalea joining the movie franchise full-time. The movie is scheduled for release in April of 2015.

The plot sets the thrill-seeking cast back in the United States once more, following the defeat of their rival Owen Shaw. Not long after their return, the boys find themselves at the center of another conflict after lead character Dominic Toretto, played by Diesel, embarks on a mission to enact revenge on the man who killed his brother. Upon learning of their friend’s motive, the rest of the crew join Dominic in the hunt for his brother’s killer.

The production of Fast & Furious 7 was halted in November 2013 after cast member Paul Walker was killed in a horrific car crash that rocked the Santa Clarita region of California. Walker was on his way to a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide, which was formed in order to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. The car was being driven by Walker’s friend and financial adviser Roger Rodas, a pro-am racer. The vehicle burst into flames after crashing into two trees and a concrete light pole. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, having succumbed to their injuries almost instantly. The cause of Walker’s death was listed as the combination of traumatic and thermal injuries, while his friend died of multiple traumatic injuries. The coroner gave a report that suggested the theory that Rodas was traveling near 160 kilometers an hour a speed that ultimately caused the man to lose control of the Porsche Carrera GT. After a short hiatus, the decision was made to digitally produce Walker’s face and voice as well as use stand-ins for his role in the upcoming installment. Two of the stand-ins are Walker’s brothers, who bear a similar resemblance to the deceased actor.

The Fast & Furious franchise began in 2001 with the release of the first film. It includes five sequels, two short films, and a video game. It has a net worth of approximately 2 billion dollars, and is currently Universal Studio’s biggest franchise of all time. Earlier this year, Diesel and Walker won an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen duo, also known as a best cast award.

This is Azalea’s first foray into cinema, having focused only on a musical career up until now. Rising to fame in early 2013, Azalea has quickly begun to dominate both the rap and R&B scene as well as the Top 40 charts, winning multiple Billboard Mid-Year Music Awards. Her smash-hit Fancy spent a total of seven weeks at the top of the Hot 100. Her duet with pop princess Ariana Grande, entitled Problem, earned Azalea her first number one single in the United Kingdom.

Azalea has yet to give her side of information pertaining to her role in the upcoming Fast & Furious installment. However, the rap sensation’s fans are extremely looking forward to seeing what she can bring to the franchise.
